5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Perfect! Smooth, rich and strong but easy to drink.
Beautiful oakiness and subtle light fruit undertones.
If it wasn’t 11.5% I would session this beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a murky golden color with a few small bubbles. The nose isn’t exactly what I was expecting. Lots of lemon (not sure where that’s coming from), iced tea, and sawdust. A bit of sweet bready malt and vanilla on the nose are the only indications that this is White Oak. The flavor is much the same, though a bit less citrusy and a bit heavier on the wood and sawdust notes. Moderate malt sweetness with some caramel, vanilla, and sugar notes. Not one of the better casks from the Bruery.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
11 mar 2012, tap at The Bruery. Yellow and very hazy. Nose is applesauce and cinnamon. Med body and mildly fizzy. Golden string ale, alcohol, applesauce, and tight woodiness. Great!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma was very nice blend of french oak, floral hops, and white wine. Appearance was murky golden with subtle lacing. I feel that the french oak clashed with the hops and alcohol burn in terms of taste. Had a wheat finish that was a good hint of the belgian influence. It was like a blend of a sour and barley/wheat wine. Didn’t enjoy this too much but it is just not my thing.

Firkin at The Bruery. Golden yellow with slight white head. Vanilla and oak dominate this one. Buttery caramel and some fruits also present. Hops are noticeable in the finish. Very much like white oak but with more wood.
