COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

[5694-20130817] Bottle. Mild lemon yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Yeasty toasted fruit flavour has a light doughy finish. Medium body. Good, though you wouldn’t tell by smelling it. (6/4/8/4/15) 3.7

Hazy goldan with long lasting head. Aroma of banana, coconut, wood. Taste coconut, yeast, sweet alcohol, bread, mango, banana. Great complexity.

Orange coloured brew. A big nice holding head. A bit hard to smell, but the taste is nice, with much going on. Wood, vanilla, coconut, white chocolate, citrus. Refreshing and good.

Bottle. Cloudy light orange pour with a big foamy head that fades to a ring. Aroma is packed with coconut and vanilla. Some wheat, lemon peel, and rum too. Tastes like coconut, bourbon, and vanilla with some caramel and wheat too. So much barrel influence, makes me wonder what the base beer tastes like. A touch of lemon juice in the finish. Odd beer. Decent but just a bit too much coconut and bourbon for me to fully enjoy.

Bottle, shared with my father-in-law. Hazy orange amber, thick off white head that retains nicely. Aroma is raw oak over caramel, vague fruits, green coconut. The palate is somewhat sticky, with fruity caramel dominating, some oaky vanilla and coconut water as background notes. Nice enough.

750 ml bottle shared with the Quebec City crew. Pours a cloudy orange with a short lived white head. Aroma is funky, lemon, tart. Flavor is fruity, orange, bubble gum, yeast, vanilla. Finish is lemon, citrus, tart, spicy. Medium to full body, soft mouthfeel, weak to average carbonation.

Smooth, smooth, smooth! Definitely taste the bourbon barrels. Tastes coconutty, general nutty, and finishes clean. Who knew Wheat had this much flavor?

Golden amber pour with a white head. Aromas of bourbon, oak, toasted coconut, and caramel. Flavor is sweet malts with notes of vanilla and bourbon. Really tasty. Smooth sipping brew. Abv is well-hidden too with a slightly warming finish. Complex and delicious.

From notes. Enjoyed at the Ashley’s Rare & Vintage Beer TasteFest on June 07. Listed here as a barley wine, advertised as a wheat wine. The pour is a great golden, orange-y color with a large white head and some great spotty lace clinging to the sides. The aroma is lightly sour with good fruits, a definite barrel presence, and a light caramel. There are also some light, soury fruits on the back end. The flavor is a bit more woody and but maintaining the good fruity background. The mouth feel is really thin, but the carbonation helps it feel a little thicker than it is. The nice sour, earthy aftertaste lingers beautifully.
