daknole (2810), Plantation, Florida, USA Nov 10, 2009 Bottle from JohnC. Damn this is good. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a nice white head. Sweet and fruity aroma with good bourbon notes. Some vanilla, caramel, and apple butter too. Flavor is sweet and chewy and delicious!!! Lots of vanilla, bourbon, oak, clove and maybe a hint of spiced pears. Nice. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Nov 5, 2009 750ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a cloudy pale peach color with a big fluffy off white head leaving some light lacing. Very strange nose of saw dust, buttered popcorn and some dry oak. Flavor held some faint hops, with a touch of booze and wheat malt. Odeed (1666), Bakersfield, California, USA Nov 2, 2009 yellow body with a huge white head.heavy dust in the aroma along with some wheat, vanilla, oak, and malts.flavor is basically the same.im diggin this one. tokyogoat (505), San Diego, California, USA Nov 1, 2009 Pours a hazy peach with medium white head.
Nose is weak, fairly yeasty, slight hints of apple, oak, and the tiniest amount of vanilla. They are kidding themselves with the comment of coconut and vanilla though,
Taste is.... ....jesus, holy overcarbonation batman! flavor is great, nice vanilla, the coconut is slightly present, nice oakiness with no tanins, hint of marshmallow, almond butter, pepper, and a mellow and slightly belgian tasting yeast. very unique, tasty, but the overcarbonation is slightly annoying. I suggest pouring this one, then repouring and letting the carbonation work its way out and it gets substantially better. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 30, 2009 750 ml bottle shared by Iowaherkeye! By far my favorite of the bruery beers! Nose of light yeast, a giant oak tree, light allspice, and fruitiness. Hazy gold with a big glass lacing, pale yellow head. Flavor has a hint of funk, lots of yeast, oak, and spiciness. iowaherkeye (1832), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 29, 2009 750mL bottle, no date picked up on Black Tuesday. Hazy Lotsa of oak and wheat in the aroma with some honey and light bourbon behind. Flavor is still pretty hot with the alcohol taming the sweetnees, plenty of wheat with a hint of lemon. Finishes dry with bitterness @ a 1 1/2 to 2. Moderate to high carbonation with a medium-full body. Pretty good--still a little hot, though.
