Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

750 ml bottle courtesy of skullgeorge. Clear golden orange color with white head. Malty aroma, fruity, orange, wood, some funky notes. Sweet and bitter like aroma with some more alcohol. Medium oily body with soft to average carbonation.

Golden with rich white head. Sweet, bit fruity sour aroma. Sweet (too sweet for me) and rich fruity sour taste. Some bitterness later. Fruity aftertaste.

Surprisingly refreshing... After you get over the shock of your first few sips. It definitely grows on you. Flavour hits me as a little more wine than beer. The heat is a nice touch. The biggest detractor for this beer is the advertisement of vanilla & coconut, but all I get is Apple, wine & alcohol. It's by no means bad, just distinctly lacking balance.

Poured as a very clear yellow liquid with ample white head but slowly got the sediments in there. The carbonation is pretty high and keeps the head. Leaves a tarty wine like taste. I personally don’t really like that.

Poured from 1 pint 9.4 fl oz bottle. Slightly cloudy yellowish brown with white head. Yeast and phenol with mild oak and sweet tartness of lemon, alcohol fairly prevalent. Medium body.

Bottle from Mikkeller Webshop; cloudy golden yellow pour with a thin white head, woody and yeast aroma, taste had some candied fruit, some spice, citrus, bourbon in the backbone.

Bottle to glass. Pours a hazy golden light brown color with an off white head. Aroma is light, faint hint of vanilla. Flavor is very big for such a light looking beer. Lots of vanilla, coconut, light bourbon. Light to medium in body with a lingering vanilla. Amazingly delicious and deceiving. Hides the alcohol well.

Golden fizzy with a white head. Aroma of oak, vanilla, caramel. Weird, flavour doesn’t match aroma and aims doesn’t match appearance. Flavour is white wine, hour alcohol, vanilla, bourbon. Weird. 😮

Bottle to glass. Pours a cloudy yellow with a sudsy white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, bourbon, and caramel. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, caramel, booze, lemon, and some banana. I actually really enjoyed this, although a bit too boozey. This could be also because I decided to drink the entire bottle. I didn’t get any of the coconut, but this was a 2013 vintage so it may have fallen off. Still good.
