COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.
2012 vintage - 11.5% abv

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange colour with a medium sized, frothy, short lived white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel, oak and alcohol. Sweet flavour with caramel, vanilla, fruit, coconut and a dry, warming alcohol finish.

It poured an orange/gold color with a white head. The aroma was of booze with some apricot and rum. The taste was of coconut, pineapple, oak, vanilla, honey with a crisp mouthfeel. Very nice.

Medium oak flavor. Fairly sweet but straightforward and not a ton of complexity. Pretty good for a barleywine but not really my style.

Bottle (03.08.13): About one year into the label’s stated cellar ‘grace’ period, been sitting in my basement since last May. Golden pour, very bold with great clarity, and a little white head. Smells sweet and lighty vinous at first, before opening up a bit with some sweeter notes of vanilla and caramel. Seemingly peanut butter. The first sip yields a high octane result. Instant warmth with a medium-weight oily feel. More caramel and vanilla with a lighter oak presence, but there is a grainy bit to it as well. Highly carbonated and the ABV is certainly noticeable. As it warms the bourbon influence becomes more and more noticeable, along with a light apple cider vibe. Intense. 750ml format is way too much to enjoy solo, probably best split by 4-5.

Another beautiful beer from the Bruery. Malty, wheaty and with some nice fruits and spices. Great.

On tap at The Bruery. 2013 vintage. This was a really nice treat among the beers I had this day. Very nicely balanced with notes of oak, vanilla, cereal sweetness and slight bourbon. A nice medium body and mouthfeel let the flavors of carmel, vanilla and oak mingle with a very light bourbon lingering close behind. FInishes with a surprisingly lively carbonation pushing more sweet roasted oak down my throat. Very nice.

Golden pour, bountiful white head. Nose is honey, muscat, vanilla and light faint citrus. Flavor is strong oak, honey drenched citrus, floral nectar, pear, spice, light bourbon/boozy character. Soft wheat character to the big sticky body. Damn this is unbelievably good and so unique. One of the best I’ve had in forever.

at my place with Matt and Jacob. Pours cloudy neon orange with thin layer of white head. Aroma is soft Belgium fruity yeast, hay, grass. Taste is sweet cardboard, some belgium oaky notes, slight wheat notes.
