Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

Bottle to glass. Pours a cloudy yellow with a sudsy white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, bourbon, and caramel. Taste is bourbon, vanilla, caramel, booze, lemon, and some banana. I actually really enjoyed this, although a bit too boozey. This could be also because I decided to drink the entire bottle. I didnít get any of the coconut, but this was a 2013 vintage so it may have fallen off. Still good.

i was really wondering just how the hell this beer was going to be classed, since "party in a bottle!" is not a category. simply put, this beer is amazing. the layers upon layers of aroma and flavor! vanilla from the oak and bourbon. boozy but not at ALL hot. tropical fruit up the wazoo (iím assuming from the white oak) but iíd never had the combo of bourbony goodness, vanilla, caramel, malt, and fruit before. just a great beer! donít know where the hell it came from, but iíd LOVE to find it again."

Bottle: Dense, fuzzy, burnt yellow body, completely opaque & topped with a much larger head than I expected; slightly off-white & quite foamy. Varied aroma of mellow boozy wood, honey coated plums, tart pineapple, hints of coconut & vanilla, a bit of toffee, blanketed caramel, figs, & maybe even a slight touch of white grape... Vinous? No... not really. But, sort of? Perplexing, but pretty good overall. Flavor is an amped up transpose of the aroma; a little more woody, a little more boozy, a little more fruity, & a little more sweet. Honey, soft wheat, bourbon soaked oak, dry coconut, clove, peach, musty pineapple with an offsetting tartness, sugarplums, white grape (definitely), & a touch of vanilla sweetness. More spicy oak in the finish, some yeasty esters, fruit sweetness, & a small lingering boozy warmth. Lots of stuff going on, here. A full bottle would be daunting, & it would certainly get a bit cloying; but smaller samples are fun to try.

Draft pour at the beer authority tasting event. Pours a light golden color with a soapy lemon aroma. 2013 pour. Spicy flavor with a lot of yeast and an aged feel to it. A lot of funk to it. Good beer overall. Unique. Tasty.

[5694-20130817] Bottle. Mild lemon yeast aroma. Slightly hazy, pale orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Yeasty toasted fruit flavour has a light doughy finish. Medium body. Good, though you wouldnít tell by smelling it. (6/4/8/4/15) 3.7

Hazy goldan with long lasting head. Aroma of banana, coconut, wood. Taste coconut, yeast, sweet alcohol, bread, mango, banana. Great complexity.
