COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.
2012 vintage - 11.5% abv

Bottle. Hazy copper pour with a slick of off-white foam. Light bourbon, vanilla, and a thick, sweet malt backbone in the aroma. Taste is vanilla and bourbon with some bitterness from the alcohol and a thick wheat malt finish. Coating mouthfeel. Big sipping beer. Okay.

Clear gold amber color with nice white head, lacing glass. What a intensive, noble and complex aroma, wonderfull. White fruits, vanilla, orange, oak wood, coconuts, bourbon, young whisky, white wine. Smooth and a bit sparkling mouthfeel. Taste is amazing, multidimensional, great balance, sweet and sour and bitter in this same time. Vanilla, spices, great apple pie, white wine, coconut, bourbon, oak wood. Full body with medium carbonation. Lovely, sweet and bitter, long, warming finish. One of the greatest, most interesting beer that Iíve ever tasted.

750ml bottle into a tulip. A: Pours a hazy amber color. The head is VERY nice looking - itís two fingers high, white shaded, and beautifully creamy. I think it retains well for 11.5%, and the lacing it leaves behind is pretty but inconsistent. This one looks good in a glass. S: I get both the BSPA portion and the BA wheatwine portion, with the former coming through more vividly. Apple and pear esters tend to dominate, while its barrel characteristics (oak, vanilla, even coconut!) slowly build up as this opens up. If thereís a problem, itís that there seems to be a disconnect between the fruit esters and the barrel notes - as if theyíre not coexisting in perfect harmony with each other. Individually, though, these two tones are actually quite satisfying. T: Apple and pear esters are at the forefront of the flavor profile, and incidentally, thatís the best part of this beer. After that, it goes right into íclusterfuck cityí. Iím getting wisps of a lot of notes (oak barrel, vanilla, booze, marshmallow, coconut, tomato, tart cherries, wheat), all popping up at various stages in the flavor profile. I will give it this - itís complex. Wait, no, it isnít complex. Itís complicated. Complex beers have a semblance of harmony and balance, this is just a hilarious jumble of flavors. A sweet, boozy hilarious jumble of flavors, with a finish thatís cloying to the point of annoyance. M: Because all the notes sort of get jammed together in a doorway, it doesnít really inspire the palate to find them out - and that means you donít care to find the notes, therefore you just want to drink this. Insomuch as the drinkability goes, itís actually quite good. Itís pretty light on the palate, and in spite of all the booze and sugar, goes down relatively easily...that is, until the sweetness overwhelms the palate. Which it will. O: I declare this the Three Stooges of beerdom. All the flavors do is get jammed in a doorway, with the sugary sweetness poking the fruit esters in the eyes and bonking the oak barrel in the head. Thereís no way I could finish a whole 750 solo, which is why I split it with a couple friends. Donít need to ever have this one again...I really hope the bottle of Bois Iím sitting on isnít like this.

Bottle: The aroma consists of big citrus, orange peel, caramel, vanilla, coconut, honey, and light bourbon. It pours a cloudy dull golden-orange with a two finger white head. There is some sporadic thin webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate citrus and lemon peel. The finish has moderate caramel, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, and a hint of grapefruit. Itís medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

W aromacie nuty winne, lekko kwaskowe, sporo białych owocůw takich jak winogrona, agrest, lekka porzeczka, lekka wanilia i aromaty nadane przez drewnianą beczkę. W smaku pełne, lekko cierpkie choć z wyraźną słodyczą i z silnym drewnianym posmakiem, lekko kwaskowe, jasne owoce, niska goryczka, dobrze przykryty alkohol, doskonała pijalność mimo mocy. Bardzo dobre!

Refrigerated 75 cl brown 2013 bottle poured into a tulip. Pours clear caramel with big fluffy off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt/bourbon, medium body, high carbonation (which dies down pretty fast), and some big bubble lacing. Taste is big caramel, bourbon, oak, some vanilla and bitter finish. Heavy, but pretty good.

Pours a clear light orange. Very thick, long lasting head. Smells of peach cobbler. Taste of apple and bitter coconut.

My first variety by The Bruery. Beautiful honey color, flowery and woody aroma. Not too sour, not too much alcohol in the taste for such a big beer. Beautifully balanced. The bourbon lingers on the palate.

Slightly hazy with a golden colour and frothy white head that lingers well enough. The aroma awakens my senses as it is intense but tight as well. Woodsy, oaky and vanilla bean blend with what I can only describe as an ale like aroma. very interesting stuff. On the palate the carbonation enhances the flavour profile and extends the slightly hot finish. Yeasty and leesy notes with vanllin oaky notes. Very very good stuff!
