Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

From notes. Enjoyed at the Ashley’s Rare & Vintage Beer TasteFest on June 07. Listed here as a barley wine, advertised as a wheat wine. The pour is a great golden, orange-y color with a large white head and some great spotty lace clinging to the sides. The aroma is lightly sour with good fruits, a definite barrel presence, and a light caramel. There are also some light, soury fruits on the back end. The flavor is a bit more woody and but maintaining the good fruity background. The mouth feel is really thin, but the carbonation helps it feel a little thicker than it is. The nice sour, earthy aftertaste lingers beautifully.

Weeee! Pours orange yellow, with a fizzy white head. Aroma is primarily sour fruit; apricots. Light fizz in the mouth with a tart apricot finish.

Big bottle. In Wilmington. Large head. Orange golden color. Aroma of orange, light fruits, citrus, caramel. Oak barrel notes in taste. Spicy yeast notes with vanilla notes. Medium body. Pretty good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow color with white head. Tartness, and weird wine notes on the nose, just weird; follows onto the palate. Finishes oddly bittersweet and just an off flavor. This was not a good beer, and not worth the price tag.

Barrel bomb. Not much of a barley wine behind this. Booze and bourbon. Lots of caramel and sweetness. Pours blonde with good head and lacing. Tap at Bruery event at Scion.

2013 Bomber bottle poured into a goblet-- Pours a nice opaque golden with bubbly white head. Smells like a Belgium (ale not person) with a twist, banana maybe? This is my second Barley Wine and once again it seems the taste doesn’t follow the nose. This might be what a vanilla tree with wine sap might taste like. It also has a hint of wheat so if you like that combination you should give this beer a try. 11.5% alc and I cant taste it behind the sweetness. Not my favorite beer but I think I’m going to catch a good buzz finishing this bottle.

750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange colour with a medium sized, frothy, short lived white head. Sweet fruity aroma with caramel, oak and alcohol. Sweet flavour with caramel, vanilla, fruit, coconut and a dry, warming alcohol finish.

It poured an orange/gold color with a white head. The aroma was of booze with some apricot and rum. The taste was of coconut, pineapple, oak, vanilla, honey with a crisp mouthfeel. Very nice.

Medium oak flavor. Fairly sweet but straightforward and not a ton of complexity. Pretty good for a barleywine but not really my style.
