COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

2012 bottle poured into a tulip glass. Golden yellow orange color with a huge soapy white head that sticks around. Nose is rich vanilla, coconut, caramel...this thing smells great! Taste is a little hot, the alcohol really burns on this one. A very interesting barley wine. I haven’t had a beer from The Bruery that I didn’t enjoy. Great beer!

at my place with Matt and Jacob. Pours cloudy neon orange with thin layer of white head. Aroma is soft Belgium fruity yeast, hay, grass. Taste is sweet cardboard, some belgium oaky notes, slight wheat notes.

Love it! Finishes dry like a wine with a bit of funky tartness from it too. Coconut and vanilla are definitely along for the ride. Boozy, wheaty, yeasty, yummy.

Bottle. Dark clear gold with a thick white head leaving nice lacing. Aroma is a mixed bag. Apple and pear baby food up front with a lovely oak, butter and vanilla finish. Taste is apple, oak and vanilla with a nice alcohol punch on the finish. Rich buttery mouthfeel. Very nice.

Carbonation head retention and lacing both great. Just not loving the coconut. Good overall flavor with the bourbon barrel blend. My palate is just picking up way too much coconut ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear goldenrod with a significant head and minimal lacing. Nose is bourbon and honey. Notes of cereal, bourbon, vanilla, some orange peel. Taste is light/med sweet and light bitter. Medium somewhat silky body with medium carbonation. Nice beer!

Barwa: złocista, klarowna (po dolaniu występuje zmętnienie), piana biała, drobno pęcherzykowa, początkowo obfita, dość szybko opadająca, ale ładnie oblepiająca szkło. Wysycenie niskie do średniego.

Smells like bourbon, vanilla and maybe even some coconut. Tastes just the same and very smooth for the ABV. I’m a bourbon freak so I could have used more and that is my main complaint. I like Mischief and bourbon beers from Bruery like Bois but I don’t like them mixed nearly as much. Glad I tried but will pass next time especially for the price tag.

Not a big fan of bashing breweries, but this deserves some words. I like Bruery a lot! Everything I have had from them until now has been bloody fantastic. But this one, went down the drain. Here are some words on why. There is a fantastic aroma, coconuts, some bourbon and heavy sweet notes of vanilla. Smells very nice. Looks good, decent head, nice color. When it hits the tongue the bourbon and oak hits you but then some incredibly heavy estery notes make quite a mess of the palate. I am a fan of estery beers, big estery notes do not bother me but this one was just incredibly overpowering. Grateful for trying this. and maybe thinking about giving this another chance soon but for now this one goes down as the biggest let downs of my years of drinking beer.

Tap. Hazy yellow orange with a small white head. Aromas of orange peel bourbon, vanilla, light oak and wheat. Flavor is the same, more sweet than anything. Medium bodied and lingering orange and bourbon.

Bottle. Hazy copper pour with a slick of off-white foam. Light bourbon, vanilla, and a thick, sweet malt backbone in the aroma. Taste is vanilla and bourbon with some bitterness from the alcohol and a thick wheat malt finish. Coating mouthfeel. Big sipping beer. Okay.
