Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

Wonderfully spicy and fruity wheat wine. Flavors are fairly dense and intense especially as it warms up. Alcohol not particularly well hidden, but not overwhelming either. Overall a very nice brew.

A decent release, this barley wine might be showing signs of peaking. It certainly is not going to get any better with age so if you still happen to be sitting on a stash start drinking it soon before it fades even more.

Aroma / Appearance - A bronze sticky base supports a layer of dense foamy head that settles to a thin sheet. Lemons, apple sauce, white oak, and other flavors meld into a chewy texure that almost reminds me of an amped up saison.

Flavor / Palate - Strong and boozy, this bites from the first sip. A little too much at times, it does not hide the layers of oak, citrus, orange peels, and malt. Some subtlety might help take off the rough edges of an otherwise polished experience. Iím happy to have tried it but wonít be getting any more Bruery beers until the cellar is much thinner.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Zurich. A beautiful and complex beer! Intense and fruity, citric. Apricots, orange, bitter almonds. Very nice, but surely not everybodyís taste.

750 ml bottle purchased at least 15 months ago from the RS. Split 2 ways during my 2015 NFL fantasy Football draft. Orange amber in color beer without any head. Aroma is very oaky with notes of bourbon, vanilla, coconut and toffee. I dig the aroma!

The flavor is so smooth but it may also have mellowed from sitting. The alcohol is only found after I was done with the snifter. The flavor is a nice balance of oak, sweet malt notes of toffee, and bourbon/ vanilla and traces of coconut. Damn nice sipping this.

Tap, 2013 vi Golden with one finger head. Lightly tart. Fairly hot, definitely warm as it goes down. Almost a butterscotch flavor, but not quite. Interesting and good.

Pours white, pale and hazy, nice foam. Aroma is soft-sweet, you can feel a lot of wheat, weizenbock intensity without residual sourness. Taste reveals loads of vanilla, put in the middle of soft and pillowy bourbon character. Maybe a bit too sweet, but I guess that is coming from wheat - and overall quite nicely balanced.

Poured a cloudy oranges color with aromas of bourbon, wet wood, light white wine, hay and horse blanket. Flavors are a wet wood with light bourbon and white wine some light funk and some light fruit esters. Solid overall not the worst bruery beer Iíve had.

Hazy golden color out of the bottle with a big, fluffy white head. Nice of white wine and subtle bourbon barrel. This is very lively on the tongue. Puffed wheat and some bubblegum notes, all with really nice bourbon barrel, oak, vanilla, tannins, and Iíll say coconut because its on the label. This is a very well balanced beer and dangerously easy to drink.

Almost clear and golden in colour, white head. Aroma is sweet, low caramel/malt with great coconut and vanilla. In taste coconut in front, then vanilla and some sweetness. Meidum bodied, dry finish. Alcohol perfectly hidden, the beer is very drinkable. Great beer and coconut is just perfect here.

Bottle to glass. Pours a golden yellow with lots of white head. Aroma is sweet, hint of oak and fruitiness. Taste is light, dry, fruity again, easy drinking. This is 11.5%?? No way, do not get a hint of alcohol. I was just trying to clean out the fridge, but this is good... and retired?? too bad.
