COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Early summer, this barrel aged wheat wine is coming out very nicely (12% ABV) White Oak is a blended beer-- 50% wheatwine aged in Bourbon barrels (we call it "White Oak Sap"), and 50% Mischief (our Golden Strong Ale). Vivid caramel, coconut and vanilla flavors blanketed in a crisp yet robust wheat ale, White Oak is an exercise of balance.

Bottle. Couldn't believe how drinkable, flavorful, and balanced this amazing beer was. I have had a lot of good beers, and this stood out enough to be among the best.

Golden pour, bountiful white head. Nose is honey, muscat, vanilla and light faint citrus. Flavor is strong oak, honey drenched citrus, floral nectar, pear, spice, light bourbon/boozy character. Soft wheat character to the big sticky body. Damn this is unbelievably good and so unique. One of the best I’ve had in forever.

Rating from 6/11/13. 750 ml bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours cloudy cantaloupe with a large white head with excellent retention; leaves some neat lacework. Aroma is strong in oak, vanilla, caramel, bourbon, toasted coconut. Taste is sweet, savory and a little sour with a touch of bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is creamy, body medium, carbonation average. Super good.

Clear gold amber color with nice white head, lacing glass. What a intensive, noble and complex aroma, wonderfull. White fruits, vanilla, orange, oak wood, coconuts, bourbon, young whisky, white wine. Smooth and a bit sparkling mouthfeel. Taste is amazing, multidimensional, great balance, sweet and sour and bitter in this same time. Vanilla, spices, great apple pie, white wine, coconut, bourbon, oak wood. Full body with medium carbonation. Lovely, sweet and bitter, long, warming finish. One of the greatest, most interesting beer that I’ve ever tasted.

Sampled on 2/5/2010. This wheat wine/barley wine pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head with good retention and nice lacing. The aroma is vanilla, oak, bourbon and malty with some orange. A medium to full bodied wheat wine. The malts are fruity, caramel, and sweet, with a lot of orange and orange peel. The hops are citrusy and floral. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A nice balance/blend between the wheat wine and the barrel aged beer. More oak, bourbon and vanilla in the aroma than the taste, although there is a bunch of bourbon and oak at the finish. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet with just of a touch of alcohol bite.
