COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
†Evan Kleiman, host of KCRWís Good Food, was inspired to collaborate with Patrick Rue and†The Bruery after enjoying a homemade Rhubarb Raspberry Pie. The rhubarbís fruity sourness tempered with the sweetness of the fresh raspberries and the wheat crust, begged to be bottled up in the form of a bubbly beer. Keeping the original pie recipe in mind, specialty grains were chosen to mimic the crust, and rhubarb and† raspberries were used in varying stages of the brewing and fermentation process. The resulting beer is reminiscent of a fresh country pie, cooling on a farmhouse windowsill.

Hazy amber pour with a white head. The aroma is full of rhubarb, raspberry and cranberry. The flavor is very similar. I get a ton of fruit notes as well as some toffee and a medium level of tartness. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

On tap at the tasting room. Best beer of the trip, very sour and a big pie smell. Nicely drinkable, for my palate.

Super hazy plum red Nose is very acetic almost a watermelon nose. Rhubarb is there. Quite sour but almost entirely from the rhubarb strawberries and cream. Tastes like a sour dessert beer. Iíd have this one again but needs to be split a few ways

22 oz. bottle. Reserve Society bottle. Looks like dirty pond water. Nose is silly sour and dirty vinegar. Maybe rhubarb aromas? Been a long time since I had a strawberry Rhubarb pie. Flavor is really acidic. I donít think that this combination is really a nice thing for a brew. Overly tart and acidic. I donít get raspberries or strawberries at all. Berry flavor would greatly improve this. Overall, not my thing at all.

750ml bottle thanks to Justin. Pours a dark mahogany red with a tan head. Big tart raspberry aroma. Taste is the same.

Reddish tinted pour with a fluffy off white head. Nice and tart, juicy sourness. The rhubarb and raspberry are a good combo. Not sure how a pie would be, but the beer is nice. Fruity, sour, lactic, light on the tongue, lemony notes. So good.

December 6, 2013 -bottle via trade. Dark orange pour with some head that faded quickly. Aroma was a nice sour raspberry with some oak. Taste was a bit too sour, but the oak was solid. Tartness seemed to mellow as it warmed or maybe as my mouth numbed.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. It poured a hazy copper color with a tan head. The aroma was of strawberry, raspberry, light tartness, lemon and a bit of mustiness. The taste was of rhubarb, some light vanilla and a little tart, with some lemon and raspberry, strawberry, and seedy jam. Nice.
