COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
†Evan Kleiman, host of KCRWís Good Food, was inspired to collaborate with Patrick Rue and†The Bruery after enjoying a homemade Rhubarb Raspberry Pie. The rhubarbís fruity sourness tempered with the sweetness of the fresh raspberries and the wheat crust, begged to be bottled up in the form of a bubbly beer. Keeping the original pie recipe in mind, specialty grains were chosen to mimic the crust, and rhubarb and† raspberries were used in varying stages of the brewing and fermentation process. The resulting beer is reminiscent of a fresh country pie, cooling on a farmhouse windowsill.

Bottle from the Bruery. Pours red amber with a white head. Aromas of rhubarb and raspberries. Tastes like a tart rhubarb pie. Delicious!

On tap at the Bruery. Great fruity aroma. I tasted strong raspberries with a slight kick -- rhubarb! I canít believe this is a 10.5% brew; I wanted to drink 10 of these. Very mellow and extremely enjoyable.

"A bit more sourness than expected also keeps this from being as fruity as expected, but as it warms, the raspberry and especially the rhubarb come out nicely. No sign of 10%. Slightly acidic and gets better each sip. Iíd give this a 4.4 but thatís the Cherry Oude Tart score which I liked juuuuuuust a little better. Another fantastic Bruery beer!"

750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering amber head. Aromas of raspberry, rhubarb, bread and light oak. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of rhubarb, raspberry, bread and light funk with a crisp dry tart lingering rhubarb finish.

Reddish tinted pour with a fluffy off white head. Nice and tart, juicy sourness. The rhubarb and raspberry are a good combo. Not sure how a pie would be, but the beer is nice. Fruity, sour, lactic, light on the tongue, lemony notes. So good.

750ml bottle. Poured an amber color with an off white head. Jammy, berries/raspberries, rhubarb pie (or was that implanted into my mind), and citrus. Nice tart finish with the alcohol content hidden.

750ml bottle, shared by dudeabide. Strawberry, fruity berry nose. Hazy darker red orange pink color. Thin, sort of bubbly khaki off-white head, loose bits of lace. Good tart taste, moderate sweet. Bigger body. Soft lighter carbonation, kind of sticky in the finish. Spicy berry flavor, very nice. Awesome fruit beer... Very much like fruit preserves, or indeed a fruity pie. Damn good stuff. Very drinkable for 10.5%..

Hazy reddish amber-brown in color... Aroma of raspberry, oak, citrus tartness... Flavor is fairly tart, more so than expected, notes of rhubarb, oak, vanilla, caramel... Oak and tartness on palate... Really nice beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

The beer has a dark ruby body with an inch and a half of bubbly, beige head. The head hisses and fades rapidly to nil, giving a still appearance. The aroma does indeed offer both raspberries and rhubarb, each easily discernible. Sour presence is evident immediately. Puckering and piquant. This is my second time opening a bottle of this, and Iím definitely enjoying it again. I perceive less bread crust / pie character and more berry wild ale. Nice balance between the rhubarb and raspberry. Delicious. Iím looking forward to enjoying this nightcap.
