Tap at the brewery. Pours clear amber with a small, fizzy white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine and resin hops with toast malt and pear esters. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness with light toast and honey malt, light fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap at CBH. Very floral citrus. Similar to pale ale. Clean finishing. Not so much a big IPA but nice flavor.

Poured from bottle into pint glass (6 month old bottle...damnit): pours golden red with a huge white head. Aroma malty and nutty. Taste pretty malty with a decent amount of hops, definitely tastes like an old IPA. Little piney, little boozy. Medium to full body. I think on tap this would be much better.

Sharp resinous hop aroma, certainly east coast style if not old world. Dark orange color. Not very bitter at all, instead you find a saccharine sweetness. Thicker, for IPA anyway, body, sticks around on the palate for awhile. Somewhere between the average pale ale and the older pre-hop-craze IPAs.

Somewhat dark amber color. Muddy but opaque. White fluffy head with solid lacing. Aroma is lightly estery, slight hops. Malt is a bit nutty and overly sweet. Not really overpowering or too much malt, but just too sweet. Seems to be an overuse of crystal malt. Hop finish is faint and forgettable. To be fair, they do make it clear this is an English style IPA, and it lives up to that expectation. Its just not an exciting beer. That sweetness does just keep coming and become almost cloying. Almost a cinnamon type spice that comes with it at times. Not my favorite IPA and really not something Id attempt to acquire again.

Large bottle with Cambridge House IPA "The Original" label, brewed in Williamsburg, MA. This is a pretty decent IPA but Im confused, is it from MA or CT? Pours a light amber with a white head and alot of lacing.

Pours a cloudy golden/orange color with a super thick white head. The head is thick with plenty of bubbles forming throughout the snifter. Aroma is of hops, spices, wood, some citrus, soap, malt, and grain. Thicker palate with a nice carbonation feel. Flavors include hops, grain, earthiness, orange peels, caramel, and malts. Leaves an earthy malt and hop finish. Very impressive brew. I might have to try some more from these guys.

blklab2007 (1999) - Connecticut, USA - SEP 7, 2013
Bottle poured a light brown in color with a big thick one finger tan head that held on very well. Aroma has resins, pine, light citrus and malts. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation fairly high. Flavor has quite a bit of a malted side, mild bitterness, resins, and light citrus. Born on date reads 0401 but this beer just arived at the store this week and had a big end cap with their bottled offerings. Perhaps that is why it was priced so low.

On tap at the brewpub. Comes to the table a hazy gold with a small white head that leaves lots of lace. Nice sweet caramel and light fruit with aromas of resinous pine and grapefruit pith. The flavor is sweet caramel, light fruits and a touch of diacytyl. Before the resinous citrus pith onslaught commences. Its a touch bitter at times. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet resinous mouthfeel. English American IPA hybrid that does neither very well.
