German Yeast, North American Spring and Winter Wheats, Hallertau Hops. We fermented on the warmer side of this yeasts spectrum so that classic Bread, Banana, and Clove combo shows through. Tasting this one progress through fermentation has been awesome.

Draft at Global Brew Edw. golden with only a tiny ring. Soft fruit, cloves, and banana are smelled. It smells like a classic German hefe. Flavorvis a little like fruity candy. Earth is tasted. Those hefe flavors that I like are here but are not quite big enough. The sugary candy leads. Still, I do like it. A nice summer quencher on a hot day. A bit of butter in the finish.

On tap @ The Civil Life. Pale straw pour with a white head. A nice little bit of banana and clove. Slight lemon peel, orange, and bready malt. Good sweetness of bread, banana, and hints of spice. Lots of lemon and orange peel. Kind of tart on the finish. Refreshing.

Draft on tap at the brewery (St. Louis, MO). RBSG 2014 Friday Bus Tour. Pours a pale straw hue with lively carbonation. Frothy bright white head dies to a small ring, laces ok. Aromas are a bit fruity, flaked wheat meets some apple, gentle banana and faint clove. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a bit of fleshy apple and banana. Touches of fruit, flaked wheat, straw. Middle is a bit bready, gentle tartness. Some touches of yeast, flaked wheat. Clean fermentation shows some decent yeast character, nice fruity compliment is cool, banana driven. Finish is a bit sweet, lingering fruit and gentle yeastiness. Nice, refreshing, doesn’t overdo the sweetness.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a near clear light gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a rich wheat note with some banana and a hint of straw. Flavor again has rich wheat with banana and just a hint of straw in the finish.

Taster on tap at the brewery during RBSG. Mostly clear pale yellow color. Thin off-white head. Loose bits of lace. Awesome hefe yeast type aroma in the nose, some bigger banana. Light to medium body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation, more dry finish. Good lemon citrus in the flavor. Light tart, light to moderate sweet taste, little bit of spiciness. Nice refreshing hefeweizen. Less yeast character, good tart lemony citrus tanginess to it. Solid, bright stuff.

Pour is a cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma is hard to detect with some wheat malt and again not much else. Flavor is more of the wheat malt then anything. Some clove I guess if you use your imagination. No real banana esters like you would like. Not one of their best efforts.
