Pours dark copper with a modest beige head and a sour fruit aroma. There is a subtly sour malt flavor wth a cherry finish and a mild alcohol trail.

750mL from the brewery via cavemanlawyer A: Red clay color with a very foamy creme head. Has some sticky legs and looks alright. N: Sour cherries over a malty base. I get a hint of bittersweet chocolate, but the cherry is mostly overpowering everything else in this bottle. There’s a hint of leather, some caramel and toffee, and some of the Belgian ester.s. T: Baker’s chocolate bitterness and a hint of tartness. Sweetness spreads around the tongue, but it’s a third player. Yeast shows throughout. M: Chalky with a sharply carbonated and medium mouthfeel. Alcohol shows briefly. O: Reminds me a lot of Three Philosophers, a beer of which I’m not a fan. This isn’t as complex, bready or yeasty as I want. Needs more density.

Thanks, Aaron! Served in a cervoise. Pours a clear dark copper color. Nose is heavy on the cocoa with a bit of dark fruit behind that. Flavor is similar. Medium body. Not getting much cherry.

On draught at Saraveza for My Beery Valentine 2013. Surprisingly understated flavor, but there is a lot going on: raspberry, cocoa, and a hint of bourbon.

25-JAN-2012, bottle @Papsø tasting, @Yespr. Red’ish with lasting tan head. Sour cherry aroma with wood and red wine. Taste is sour cherry with brett, wood, red wine, fruits. Overcarbonated - that takes away some of the flavors. Fruity and tart more than a Belgian Strong Ale. Dry finish. 10% ABV cannot be detected.

Bottle. Pours murky red-brown with a somewhat lasting small beige head. Aroma is cherries, vinegar, marzipan, wood, overripe fruit, caramel malt, earthy, brett. Taste is medium sweet and light tart. Body is medium, carbonation is average+. Finishes berry sweet and warming. Too sweet for me.
