On draught at Saraveza for My Beery Valentine 2013. Surprisingly understated flavor, but there is a lot going on: raspberry, cocoa, and a hint of bourbon.

Bottle shared by DanielCoors. Poured hazy dark brown with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with very good lacing. Moderate complex toasted sweet malt and wood aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid complex sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. This is a smooth complex beer.

Bottle shared by DanielCoor. Pours dark brown in color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have tart cherries, cocoa, bourbon, vanilla, some hints of the alcohol, I thought that the flavor was good, smooth, wood, sweetness is there, I would drink this again.

750 ml bottle. Pours dark amber with a big fizzy light tan head that retains well and leaves little lacing.

The aroma is sweet bourbon and chocolate with some cherry, dark fruits and cinnamon.

The flavor is sweet chocolate malts with some acidic and tart cherry and some chalky boozy bourbon in the finish. Some cinnamon comes out as it warms. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with slightly sharp carbonation.

Overall, an OK big beer. A bit too sweet and boozy with chalky acidic notes.

"I really dig the cocoa in this beer. I wanted a little more punch from the cherries and the bourbon barrels, but in the end this was a nicely balanced effort. Lightly sweet and even more lightly tart. Complex and refined."

Excellent flavor - lots of sour cherry and smokiness, nice alcohol burn, just a touch of chocolate and coffee on the nose. Quite a good American interpretation of a classic Belgian style.

750ml. Lovely chocolate cherried aroma, hints of bourbon dark fruits. Flavor isn’t as bursting as the aroma, but follows en suite where it starts you off with the beverage. More cocoa on the palate, a singe of Heaven Hill and wood, with sour cherry coming in towards the finish. It’s good, but was hoping for a bit more of a louder flavor.
