Brewed predominantly with organic 2- row, the malt bill is rounded out with organic light munich, organic 60L crystal and caravienna. Northwest Golding and Hallertauer hops provide a pleasant hop character. Right out of primary fermentation this beer is decidedly an American Pale Ale, but as it enters secondary, a bridge to Belgium is built with a dose of Brettanomyces Bruxellensis. A 5 week maturation results in slightly dry, fruity beer with a hint of floral Brett character that will evolve over time.

Bottle:   Dark straw, slightly dirty, thick and hazy (towards the end of the bottle), huge pillowy off-white head, nice lacing.   Faint berry nose, slight funk, a little basement, but not terribly bright.   Wheaty and bubbley on the tongue, a bit more basement like must than on the nose, less fruity, only a smidgen of sweet berry/fruit.   Not all that sour, in fact only slightly tart, and barely even dry.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Feels a bit bubbley, strong carbonation.   Finishes a little light, musty, a bit wheaty, but not all that dry, tart, sour, or fruity.   Tiz okay, but very very tame in my book.

(Rating #4732)

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange with moderate white head. Aroma is horse funk, light sour, a little fruit character going on and some lingering hops. Mouthfeel is super balanced with works well with all aspects of this beer. The APA base is a good jumping off point and the taste is well rounded with not a lot of super sour elements.

Hazy copper and orange coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, yeast, brett, sour grapes and a hint of coriander seed and some light spices. Medium-bodied; Assertive hop note up front with a lot of pungent yeast and a little sourness on the end, but not much. Aftertaste doesn’t show as much complexity as I’d like to see, but some nice barnyardie flavours, a hint of herbaceousness and a little yeastie funk, but nothing over-the-top. Overall, a good and decent beer, but not up to the standards of others. Definitely worth trying if you can get it, but if you have room in your luggage for one 75 cL bottle, don’t buy this one. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Made in Oregon in Portland International Airport [Terminal D] on 28-April-2013 for US$10.95 sampled at home in Washington on 04-May-2013.

750, capped. Pours a cloudy medium amber with a dense and wooly whitish head. Lots of eggy lace. Dusty nose, showing cranberries. Some mineral quality. Creamy medium body with lively, wooly carb. Cranberries and dust on the mid palate. Very balanced and approachable. Not hitting you over the head.

750 ml bottle shared by Brian. Thanks, dude! Pours a richly hazed amber copper hue, good glow, a bit darker overall with a cakey offwhite head. Sticks around large, laces well. Mellow glow, the beer is pretty. Mellow amber glow, a bit dulled. Aromas offer some firm funkiness, sour red fruit, touch of berry, some lemon. A touch of lactic acid, firmer sour berry, touch of cranberry, lemon, firmer funk. Cobwebs, earth. Initial is earthy, firm brett, gentle carbonation. Some bretty life comes in, firmer earth, funk, and gentle fruit and berry. The middle is more gentle sweetness, apple and redcurrant, some firmer dryness as we round the corner. Cobwebs, firm brett, and gentle tartness. Finish is dry, firmly bretty dominance into the finish. Cobwebs, earth, and some basement. Clean, lacks the clunkiness of beers that don’t finish up. Firmly brett, gentle fruit in spurts. The nose and appearance really are the best for this one. Kinda a surprise.. A pretty nice beer. A lot of fruit in the nose really makes it complex with the brett. Nice.

Bottle... Hazy golden pour with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Excellent retention. Bretty, bready nose. Light to medium-bodied with zippy carbonation. The flavor is only tangy and dry; not sour. Finishes lightly tangy, mildly bitter and dry. Thanks to landhoney for sharing his bottle!
