Thanks to nate321 for this one! Pour is dark brown with a medium offwhite head that leaves some lacing. Nose really hits you with lavender and it is pretty much all you can smell so I’d say that aromas are: perfume, flowers and a little spice. Taste is lightly tart and not really bitter, in line with the aroma. I mean, it is fruity with some kind of red fruit aspect to it (raspberries?) but basically it is just more perfume and maybe some coriander at the end. Carbonation was moderate, body light. A bit weird but pretty bang on for a lavender dark farmhouse ale. Fun!

bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks dude! pours hazy / cloudy pale brown, orange-red tint, with an aerial light beige head, good retention and lacing. roasted / toasted wheat, lightly tart red fruits, perfumey lavender and chamomile - a soapy non-off-flavour / aroma, mint, spicy cloves and cinnamon, brown sugar / dark candi without any residual sugars really. lively carbonation, light body, dry and a bit astringent grassy-very spicy finish. unconvincing blend of flowers and dark malts.

Visual: Pours dark cola brown with a crazy massive foamy head, great retention, lots of super fast streams here and there. Nose: super floral bouquet of lavender and chamomile. (lvl-9)-pungency Attack: creamy-fizzy crisp mouthfeel Mid-palate: (lvl-5)-sweetness, (MAIN) lavender, cola malts, chamomile Finish: light burpy, hibiscus, medium sourness, malty subtly hopped bittersweet finish. Summary: Wow, wickedly unique with a great visual pour. The lavender flavour comes out surprisingly clean and harmonizes well with the Saison style. Worth a try. My kind of whimsical beer.

Bottle. Dark brown beer with a tan head. Caramel and light yeast aroma with light fruitiness. Floral and fruity flavor with yest and light caramel. Medium bodied. Floral and caramel lingers with lemony fruitiness and light dark fruits.

Bottle:   Very floral and spicy beer.   Strong hibiscus, lavender, and chamomile.   Feels authentic, not soapy or artificial, but its a bit strong.   Pretty airy carbonation.   Outside of that, pretty one dimensional with just a strong floral aspect.   Does start to get a little urinal cake like as it warms up.   Tiz okay, but wished it were more citrusy and bright instead of an overwhelming strong floral aspect.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark brown color with a medium white head. A big floral and spicy nose. Pretty intense flavor: raisin, yeast, loads of spices, herbs. Round and pretty easygoing. I enjoyed it.

Light aroma, with a little floral notes from the use of lavender, chamomile and hibiscus. Dark with an intense flavor of herbs, dry finish. Very nice Leave your pretensions at the door.

5-10-13 From bomber @ Scott’s house- Interesting herbal flavor, definitely detecting lavender among other herbs. After reading description, one can pick the flavors out. 8.6 BD 4Scott- nice floral bouquet with bitter tartness

750ml bottle. Pours a dark cola brown with a large light cream head which leaves a nice 1/2 inch layer all the way down. Aroma is very herbal/floral, with the lavender really being the prominent smell. Hints of spice & chamomile come through, along with a hint of liquorice/anise, some dark fruit and Belgian yeast. The taste comes across similar to a cheap, stores-own name cola, especially given the high carbonation present. Very herbal in flavour, spicy, fruity, anise, some dark chocolate, too. Interesting, complex flavours, which kinda blend together. Medium bodied with a sticky texture, fizzy lively carbonation, giving a long, bitter, spicy drying finish. An interesting beer, but the cheap cola flavour keeps nagging at me.

Super dark brown coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall slightly soapy light brown head - nice and odd looking at the same time. Aroma of grass, yeast, wheat, flowers (hence the name), lemons, curacao, coriander seed and a bunch of roasted malt. Medium-bodied; Assertive spicey flavour with pungent lavender and violet noticeable, a little coriander seed, some lemon and orange peel and a lot of roasted malt flavours. Aftertaste is where it gets really complex, odd and flavourful - from pungent spices to some alcohol, malt, yeast, chocolate, hay, flowers and even chalk shows up here - strong, but nice and different. Overall, a dark saison that shows a lot of complexity and some interesting flavour profiles that you don’t get often. I can’t say that it works perfectly, but it is very nice to try, especially back here on the East. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Made in Oregon (PDX Airport, Terminal D Location) in Portland, Oregon on 28-April-2013 for US$11.95 sampled at home in Washington on 18-July-2013.
