COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Little Brother is in the vein of a Belgian dark strong ale. By Northwest standards an 8.5% beer may not be considered strong, but it is currently the biggest beer Beetje produces. It pours dark brown, with shades of ruby and a creamy tan head. The flavor is dominated by caramel, and candy and offers a smooth finish. Chocolate and coffee begin to emerge as the beer warms.

On draught at beer mongers - slight foam around edge of glass. Nose of sweet malt. Nice fizzy mouthfeel with taste of sweet cane sugar with dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught at the Grain & Gristle restaurant in Portland. Super dark fruit aroma: concentrated cherries, plums, raisins. Reddish-amber with ruby tints. Thick malty initial, with some good dark caramel / mid palate has mild raisins, dates, and a touch of yeast / finish is warm, smooth, and very well balanced. Medium-heavy body, with good light carbonation. Very good stuff. Complex flavor changes throughout.

Listed as 9% at Bailey’s tap-room. Lighter brown/red. Very light and smooth, with some candy sugar. Light and dry. Very tasty and super mellow for the ABV.

Tap @ The Commons Brewery... Poured a deep reddish/rust color with a moderate, off-white head. Nice tasting Belgian ale here. Some citrus, fruit esters and yeast spices. Mild mouthfeel and only a little dryng with candied malt tones. Despite the ABV quite quaffable.

Dark caramel nose, seems to have wood and bourbon notes, though that’s all in my head. Dark toffee with a sandy head. Richly sweet, some orange blossom, and more young bourbon and wood. I really can’t believe this isn’t aged in a barrel. Dark candy sugar, little heat in the middle that quiets in the finish.

Dark brown in color, clear with a tin head. Big malt aroma and flavor. Sweet candy flavors with caramel and light hops. Easy drinking strong ale. Nice beer and I can’t wait to try more from this place.
