wedgie9 (1990) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 26, 2013
Tasted on 6/26/13 from a capped 750mL bottle purchased at Beermongers. Pours hazy light orange with a very thick white head that slowly recedes to quite thick, even, and messy lace. The nose is very subdued, with a bit of bread malt, and just a hint of sour lemon. The flavor is much more sour with the malt taking a back seat, but not much more going on. The body is fairly light with just more than average carbonation and a long, sour finish.

Cloudy blond color. It had a very strong dough and bread character, positively, and the sourness has a distinct fruity accent, grapes and yellow plums; highly carbonated and smooth. A bit lemony in the final.
Very good.

Ernest (6232) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 27, 2014
Bottle. Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly flowers (herbs), lightly yeasty (basement, barnyard), with notes of lemon juice, plastic, bile, sour apple, sage, gum. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, heavily acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, heavily acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation. Rather dirty Brett character leads on to a very sour, bile-like mouth experience. Pretty hard to like even though I like wild-and-sour beers.

Salmoniform (678) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - SEP 12, 2014
Poured from tap to glass at Les Caves. Straw hue with slight haze and creamy white head that lingered. Aroma is straw, lactic, earthy, peppercorn, lemon. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry throughout with a nice tart sourness in the following and a clean finish. Overall this is a nice brew.

Finished up our Commons stash last night and this one did not disappoint. Lemony tartness and an underlying rustic yeast strain make this both a summer quencher and appealing sour. Good stuff.

cpetrone84 (1434) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 29, 2014
Pour is a hazy golden amber with a fairly tight white head. Nose has a fair bit of grain, lots of lemon esters, and lactic acid. Taste has a strong lemon up front, stale grain mid palate, lots of lingering lemony esters. Finish is fairly strong on lactic acid, carb is strong and body is light. Flavors are dominated by fruity esters and lactic acid, still fairly enjoyable.

Just a tad too shy of a beer, although quite complex. By this I mean that the tartness is just a bit too strong, such that the base saison is hard to discern. But if you work at it, you are rewarded.

Lukaduke (2222) - Portland, Maine, USA - MAY 20, 2014
Pouors a deep golden almost copper color with a finger or two of white fuzz. Nice balance of fruity pear, apple and barnyard funk. Round malt bill adds nice backbone for the brett qualities to use as a platform. Honeyed apple, tart unripe bosc pear a touch of cherry and some musky basement lingers.

This beer has a cloudy yellow color. It has a strong aroma like green apples. It pours with a very thick head and is more mildly sour than some similar beers I have had. Very well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour at WTF poured a clear gold with a small lingering white head. Aromas of straw, horse blanket and earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of straw, horse blanket, light fruitiness and light earthiness with a crisp dry tart finish.

Dogbrick (8149) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 1, 2014
Pours a deep golden color with a thick white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and bready malt. Light-bodied with a vinous character and flavors of herbal yeast, doughy malt and citrus. The finish is mildly tart with a white grape and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
