Taster at Saraveza’s Farmhouse and Wild Ale Festival. Funky yeast notes in the aroma. Almost a lactic sourness in the flavor, with pitted fruit notes. Finishes with a clean sour tickle.

12 oz tulip draft at the Brewery in Portland, Oregon. The pour is a slightly hazed golden yellow with a well formed smaller white head. The aroma is a slightly acidic lemon citrus with a strong fresh grass. The taste is tart funk acidity along with the nice lemon character and fresh grassy hop character in the back. The palate is light bodied, active carbonation and the tart and hop grass finish. Easy drinking, very refreshing beer.

A steady pour into my IPA glass produces a four-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head. The beer is a bright gold color that shows a brilliantly clear, almost metallic golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells of dried hay / grain, not-overwhelming bright lemon like notes, a soft green herbal character, and a nicely tart fruitiness.

The beer is nicely effervescent, if foams up fairly vigorously as it hits the tongue, this pairs well with the light quenching body that is here. Softly tart, with just a touch of herbal lemon character, and the light sourness couples with a nice bitterness in the finish both of which linger a bit on the palate after each sip. A light, pale grain character contributes sun drenched dried hay, freshly threshed grain notes, and a soft, cracker like pale maltiness that rounds out the other flavors in this beer.

This is an incredibly refreshing beer, it is very well balanced, and quite tasty too. It is not overly complex, and that works for this particular beer. I would happily drink a bunch of this beer.
