3fourths (7799) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Hazy golden wheat with a fine white head. Stale grains, wheat and lactic acid throughout. Strangely milky with cereal grain flavor (Cheerios) with chalky, silty, pasty yeast. Resembles berliner weisse but without wheat. As it opens the acidity and milky sourness becomes difficult to handle, and it creeps over into stomach bile / vomit territory. There’s some dried fruit character as well, could be from hops or the tropical yeast esters, I’m not sure, but it does give it a distinct sour patch kid candy flavor. Lightly sweet, grainy, chalky, lactic and messy.

Pours a deep golden color with a thick white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and bready malt. Light-bodied with a vinous character and flavors of herbal yeast, doughy malt and citrus. The finish is mildly tart with a white grape and yeast aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

This was listed as "Dry-Hopped Myrtle", So I hope this is the correct beer. Cloudy yellow, thin white head. Citrusy, vaguely tropical aroma. Spritzy, light palate. Lots of white wine, some notes of light fruit. Very tasty.

GABF 2013. Pours a yellow appearance with a white head. Herbal/straw/hay, slightly floral, funky, light tropical fruity aroma. Fairly dry, funky, lemon, light woody flavor. I wasn’t overly impressed with this one, but as with the other beers by these guys, I would love to try it again.

Bottle:   Bright straw, orangish, hazy, moderate to large foamy white head, nice lacing.   Soft tart wheaty nose.   A little sulfur and a bit barnish.   Tart wheatiness on the tongue, a little mealy on the backside.   Dry, but falls off quickly.   A very easy entry to the style.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Airy too.   Starts slow, peaks, falls off quickly, leaving dryness, mealiness, with tarness.   Lots of ess’s in there.   Good, even if a little average and underwhelming.

Picked up May 2012, drank August 2012. Very light and faint farmhouse ale here. Hints of grass, citrus, and white wine. Elements of barnyard far away, and a tiny touch of funk - almost like a Berliner Weisse. Good stuff.
