Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color with compact head. Mild yeasty and spicy aroma. Dry mouthfeel; light bread flavor, light stale bread impression too, plastic touch, timid yeast spiciness, ordinary bitterness. Can’t identify it as Farmhouse, just a dry Wheat.
Mostly boring.

Capped 750 from Made in Oregon. Pours rather dishwater gold with a 4+ finger foamy/creamy white head. Which did a bit of ringing. Aroma through all the foam hints at earthy citrus sour. Full bodied - tho the carbonation likely accounts for much of that. Flavor is wheaty?, citrus, earthy near funky. Damn this is pretty tasty ale. The back parts of my mouth have stood to attention. The rye spice aspects are particularly, to me, unusual in a saison. Finishing earthy/spicy/dry. Just excellent.

GABF 2013. Pours a hazy golden yellow appearance with a white head. Slightly funky, pils malty, straw, lightly fruity aroma with a hint of diacetyl. Floral, lemon citrusy, slightly quenching flavor but I just couldn’t get past the light diacetyl that I was getting. Would like to try again in better shape.

Tap at the Commons brewery, PDX, 26/05/13. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a thin white head that dissipates to the edge. Nose carries yeast esters, toffee, spice, dark fruits. Taste comprises pear drops, touch of spice, light banana tones, sugars, yeast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweetish in the finish. This was drinkable stuff but not really what I look for in a saison, it came over more as a Belgian ale.

Tap at Lardo Eastside. Pours a low haze golden. Weaker foam. Nose is estery pear, apple. Taste is sugary, apple, paper. Cidery, papery. Pretty much all my pet peeves for saison :/
