Pours a light, clear, straw color, turning more orange and hazy as the yeast is mixed in. Head is thin and white. Active bubbles. Aromas of bread, dough, sweet clove. Flavors are similar with a hint of lemon, dry finish, with good acid. Mouthfeel is very lively and sharp with a light body. Rye certainly adds some spiciness to this as well. A nice offering.

At The Commons wih Taylor; Stephen, and Taylor. Pours yellow hazy. Aroma is farmhouse barnyard, phenolic. Taste is dry some hay wheat notes, phenolic fruity. Not bad but a little phenolic for my taste. Some honey, doughy.

Draft at APEX. Head is small, mostly diminishing. Body is medium yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of spearmint gum, banana, pepper. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation. Darn good, actually...I passed this by in bottles a few times and decided to give ’er a whirl on draft and am glad I did. Much more hyped breweries fail miserably at this style all too often, but these guys kept this one mostly in-style and didn’t screw it up with any goofy adjuncts. There’s more banana ester than I prefer in this style, but there’s a nice spicy-herbal-peppery component that makes it fairly nice to sniff. Low ABV and the finish is delightfully dry, so it’s quite quaffable. It’s Americanized for the most part, but you can do so, so, so much worse in this genre, so I applaud the effort.

Bottle, 06/29/2014. Pale golden pour, huge rocky head dies slowly, copious lacing. Aroma is mildly sweet cereal grains, nice round citrus, lemon zest, dusty yeast character, some white pepper. Taste is straw malts, mild sweetness, lemon tartness, herbal grassy notes, pepper, again quite yeasty. Light body, sharp carbonation. Decent.

750 ml bottle from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem. $8.99 Pours a slightly hazed golden colour with a large thick and rocky white head. Nice carbonation strings rising. Fine yeasty, leafy, slightly earthy pepper aromas. Some lemon zest too. Taste is slightly more sweeter than anticipated but mostly peppery, yeasty ,plum goodness..slight bitterness in end. LIked the mouth feel on this one..soft but plentiful carbonation and a great dry finish. Very nice beer..one for the summer.

Bottle. Banana and wheat, light hops on the background. A bit sweet for me. I like their hoppy farmhouse better.

Hazy straw color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, yeast and fruit. Light to medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, citrus, peppercorns and malt. The finish is floral and fruity with a yeast and citrus aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Bottle. Pours with a clear, very pale yellow hued body with a small white head that fizzes away slowly. Aroma shows mild sulfur, large carbonic bite, medium malt character, phenols (pepper, cardamom, 4vg), dry esters. Grassy hop notes. Flavors are dry, peppery, mildly savory, rye, crackery, floral, and slightly spicy. Very high carbonation, carbonic bite, a touch papery. Low body, easy drinking. Pretty decent saison.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy blond color with compact head. Mild yeasty and spicy aroma. Dry mouthfeel; light bread flavor, light stale bread impression too, plastic touch, timid yeast spiciness, ordinary bitterness. Can’t identify it as Farmhouse, just a dry Wheat.
Mostly boring.
