Brewmaster Jamie is always excited about new seasonal releases, but the Regalement is an extra special gem. Brewed with eight different malts, including traditional floor malted barley from Belgium and fifty pounds of turbinado sugar from Maui, this golden ale reaches 10.5% alcohol by volume. Layer upon layer of flavor and aroma entice you to have another drink: honey, apricot, pineapple, orange marmalade, sweet malt and alcoholic warmth. All of these exotic characteristics are created by the triple Belgian yeast blend used for fermentation.

Pours a lightly hazed, orange-tinged gold with a medium white head. Aroma is spicy, with elements of Noble hops and orange zest. Taste is sweetish and spicy. More zest, orange flavors, some grassy and spicy hop flavors, white pepper and ctirus along with toasty malt. Just the lightest bit of alcohol heat that follows late in the swallow; otherwise, extremely smooth and drinkable. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, almost quaffable. Quite nontraditional for the style -- I would almost characterize it as an "imperial wit" but it does work as a tripel.

Pours a clear orange amber with a large foamy white head that leaves rapidly. Something of a perfume/tobacco aroma. Or maybe just a big mix of fruits. Full bodied with foamy carbonation. Suddenly I understand those who say beer has bubblegum. This has more than that. I still get a tobacco/earth aspect, but thereís tropical fruit here. Itís neither sweet nor bitter nor sour. The heat is hardly detectable. Thereís a nice juicy fruit aspect along the lower tongue sides. With a lot time it actually starts to taste like a standard tripel. Must be fruit taste fatigue setting in. Itís really impressive.

Smells like miller lite. Chad is angry that I think that. Apricots and musty sweat. Donít hate me. Itís still good!

Had this one on tap at the brewpub. The beer pours a clear orange color with a white head. The aroma is orange and pears with some Belgian yeast. You also get some alcohol. The flavor is citrus fruits (oranges mainly) with some yeast and sugar. The beer is very sweet overall. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

GABF 2009. Pours clear yellow with a spare, fizzy white head, mostly diminishing with spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, cereal), average hop (flowers, grass), average yeast (dough, horse blanket, earth) with notes of pear, pepper, and coriander. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Pours a decent amber with an aroma of sweet sugar bread. Flavor is tangy-sweet raisin bread. Nice, gooey mouthfeel. Perty good.
