Cybercat (470), Georgia, USA Dec 27, 2007 Aroma is very strong and malty, not complex but inviting. Pours a beautiful clear amber-brown with a very thick, although not persistent, head. Flavor is smooth and crisp, with a nice balance of hops and malt, not rich but satisfying. Aftertaste has just a touch of hop bitterness in it.
My uncle brought this to me all the way from North Carolina. Bless his heart!
nqualls (573), Tennessee, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear amber with a two finger tan head. Aroma of caramel malt. Flavor is caramel, toffee, and a bready note. A slight hop finish is present as well. Good beer. tarheels86 (167), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Oct 24, 2008 Bottle. Pours a nice amber (surprise!) that is slightly cloudy with a medium, beige head. Lacing is decent. Nose is caramel and malt. Taste is roasted malt, caramel, toffee, and has a yeasty bread taste in there too. Ends sort of sour. Hops are present and make a nice balancing act, but this is by far the most mediocre of the DR Series. Ummm, maybe this one should be cut from the lineup seeing that every other beer from this brewery is superb. colemgm8 (422), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Oct 22, 2008 tasting at GDBTF on 10/18/08. copper in color. basically your average amber ale. very session-able. but nothing really to rave about. WISEGUY572 (1158), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2008 I just could not work up any enthusiasm for this. Sort of hoppy, sort of sweet, sort of citrus finish, sort of average more or less everywhere. Skeegle (334), USA Oct 19, 2008 Very nice amber ale that tastes sweet, with lots of caramel and creamyness to the hop profile. The malts are especially nice in this beer and provide a great backbone for the hops to stick to.
