| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2008 Poured a dark mahogany brown / black color with a small, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast, vanilla, cocoa, floral hoppiness, and smoked malts. Taste of dry, bitter roast, vanilla, nuts, smoke, cocoa, and alcohol. The rating is an average of both years, the 07 was hoppier though thinner, while the 06 really came together nicely, was creamier, and not overly hoppy. Thanks to Tom and Steve for letting me try these! wcudwight (10), USA

Balck in color with an attractive chocolate colored head that doesn’t hang around for last call. Roasted and boozy in the aroma but in the best of ways. Rich roasted malt flavor complemented by some dark fruits and molasses. What sets this beer apart from others is the rich coffee like finish and the soft velvet like mouthfeel.
This one is worth seeking out. railcat1 (581), Orlando, Florida, USA
