Commercial Description:
The Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. A full blooded roasty character is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong (9% alcohol by volume) yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew warrants sipping and savoring.

Bottle thanks to JCB! Pours a dark almost pitch black with some red highlights though. 1 finger light brown creamy head. Aroma is great but it takes me a minute to figure out what i am smelling. Then it comes to me..Fruity Pebbles, and some cocoa puffs. Really unique and mouth watering aroma. Flavor is mild roast with cocoa and that fruity pebble flavor throughout, all sorts of fruits in there. A tiny hint of bitterness. Very smooth with a medium body and a crisp finish. Quite delicious, this beer would be great for breakfast. Wish i could get it around here.

Thanks to Drunkasmonk. Gone too soon, a rich and dark full-mouthed stouty porter. Bittersweet cocoa. Very good brew and true to its style, and less sour than others. But I do think its style gets above average press compares to other, subtler styles.

Bottle from trade with Pantanap. This black ale poured with a nice tan head. It’s a creamy ale with a complex roasted malt taste - notes of coffee, mocha and vanilla. Very balanced with a slight alcohol finish. This is one good porter.

I tell you this...I on occasion go to farmville to do some service work on submersable pumps. I had no idea that such a great brewery dwelled within! The Milk stout is better but the porter is great. I first sampled it on a confused palate ie. I drank several schwarzbiers & a xxx stout or 3. But days later , this beer showed itself. Not being one for specifics , look at the other descriptions then try it if you can. Damn GOOD!!!

Bottle from Aaron (saarlandar) after his awesome SoCal beer tasting party. Best by July 2007 (oops it’s too late ;))Pours with a small head of fine tan bubbles lingering eternally on the surface and on the sides as I swirl. Aroma is a very very nice combination of toasted coconut and chocolate, maybe a touch of vanilla. I wish I could smell the soy that others smell. I could smell this all day (I seem to say that a lot recently in my ratings). Wonderful aroma. The roastiness is well balanced in a complex mesh of mild bitterness of chocolate and other flavors. Leans a little to the dry side, and I have a big sweet tooth, which brought down it’s flavor rating a bit. Plalate is creamy smooth. Pretty easy to drink alone, but probably excellent with cheese or dinner. Gets better and better as it warms up. I just bumped my rating 0.1.
