12oz bottle from weeheavy. Poured into a snifter, nice little mocha colored head that faded quickly. Black in color. Aroma of brown sugar, maple syrup, lightly roasted malts and some dark fruits maybe. Taste is roasted malts, dark fruits, maybe some grapes or raspberries? Unique flavors that I cant put my finger on... maybe some kind of licorice root or even ginger root. Sweet taste overall. Light, easy to drink texture. The nine percent is hidden well. Nice sipping beer as the commercial description says. Overall a nice beer. Thanks jon for sending this one to me!

The first time, not knowing about the fruit taste, this was almost a drain pour. Just plain weird, as though there was a bit of raspberry or even grape syrup mixed in. Second time around I warmed to it a bit, as the fruit does really meld well with some nice roastiness and a great mouthfeel. A nice beer, and a unique beer. Not sure there is much more to it though.

Single bottle purchased at Chucks in Chagrin. At first sniff (pre-pour) it was clear this was not the usual porter. It smells of dried strawberries (my favourite dried fruit.) Upon further nasal inspection, it has some blueberry, fig and raisin notes. This aroma is very fruity, amazingly so in fact, given that it all smells natural, not processed, artificial or added. Appearance of this one is a nice black with a thin dark mocha head on it. The flavor is outstanding. I don’t know if this fits into what I expect from a baltic porter, it isnt really bitter, dry or that roasty. This is smooth and fruity with a finish of coffee and chocolate. God, this is fantastic. The flavor this amazing fruity flavor, dried strawberries again, and just melts right into this gentle bitterness and rich malty flavor. I need to get my ass to North Carolina for some of this brew, it is top notch. Normally with a 9%’er I am expecting some serious flavors, something that I need to slow down with an takes some chewing to get into. Not this, it is the perfect level of complex yet enjoyable. Fruity and hearty, and fan-fucking-tastic.

Bottle courtesy of WeeHeavySD and opened as a late b-day present to myself. Pours near black with a filmy brown head. Aroma is deep roast, but with a strong and surprising dark fruit presence. Flavor likewise has beautiful dark cherry undertones to the coffee/chocolate base. The booze is present only as a slight warming in the finish. Much less sweetness than expected, but it’s not missed. Amazingly balanced. I really, really want more.

#200 rating! Bottle courtesy of Antzman-thanks! Pours a dark brown/almost black with a thin tan head. Has a roasty, sweet, fruity aroma with hints of liquorice, plums,raisins, cherries and chocolate. Creamy texture flavor is a rich dark chocolate with berries that has an excellent finish and aftertaste. A very complex beer with a lot going on. Simply delicious!

Bottle. Aroma of sweet roasted malt, raisinets, deeply roasted coffee, huge earthy hop notes. Flavor really expands on the coffee notes, really rich, dark coffee, joined by the earthy hops as well as an increasingly nutty character. The sweet malt at times threatens to overrun the whole scene, but thankfully never does. On the superb side of things.

Bottle courtesy of JCB. Pours black with a small light tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt and a touch of booze and smokey meats. Flavor of sweet malt and some smokiness in the background. A touch of vegetal notes. Pretty tasty, slightly on the syrupy/heavy side. This is pretty decent, but I don’t think it’s a 4+ beer. A little on the sweet side. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Great pour! Could smell the fruitiness as soon as the cap was popped! Molasses,dark fruits,raisons, coffee that then melds into Huge Cherries!!!!!! With hidden chocolate tones as well! WOW!!!! Flovor is out of control! Strawberry Ice cream, ripe bananas, and chocolate! This is a banana split with strawberry ice cream beer! Almonds, nuts, and cream slip in almost unnoticed as they are mixed in with the other flavors. Finishes with subtle licorice and fruit cake. The bitter hop finish is just enough to keep you wanting more... as is the alcohol! I could drink this waY TOO FAST!
