Commercial Description:
The Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. A full blooded roasty character is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong (9% alcohol by volume) yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew warrants sipping and savoring.

2008 bottle. Rated 08/09/2009. Big thanks to Duck Rabbit for bringing this to Georgia! Pours pure black with a small tan head. Light lacing. Big roasted aroma...malts, chocolate, coffee, and dark fruits. Big flavor that follows with more of the same roasted coffee, chocolate, and tons of dark fruits. Sour and tart note on the finish. Rich, creamy mouthfeel with low carbonation. An amazing brew, amazing baltic porter. Not sure if I like this or the Sinebrychoff more. Gonna have to do a side-by-side comparison in the near future. Can’t go wrong with either. One of my favorite beers!

2009 bottle. Fresh is best with Duck-Rabbit, don’t worry about aging. No sourness, incredibly flavorful, and packs quite a punch.

Waited too long to try this. Had the BA version at the ORF tasting which was phenomenal and this was no let-down. Malty aroma with chocolate notes and slight coffee. Taste is full bodied and delicious. Malty, chocolate, nice carbonation, smooth but punching on the palate. Just a great brew.

12 oz. bottle. Pours very dark. Hints of earthiness in the nose along with a sharp scent of roasted malts. Pretty woody. A little sweet in the beginning. Very nice intense roasty bitter finish. Very nice stuff.

Rich malty aroma, chocolate and hints of coffee, with traces of creamy vanilla on the nose. Pours black with a thin tan head. Rich dark malt flavors, coffee liqueur, dark bitter chocolate in the flavor, very smooth. Excellent baltic porter!

Very sweet and rich. Big creamy tan head. Roasty. That tart/sweetness in a porter/stout really signifies the Duck Rabbit style for me. Very enjoyable beer.

Bottle from Secret Santa. Thanks Santa! Very dark brown, nearing black, pour with tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, some wood. Basically smells absolutely awesome. Flavor is deep rich chocolate, lightly creamy, with wood notes. Some smoke and fruit. Very rich. Really complex and well crafted. Stunning. The quintessential Baltic porter.

Pretty delightful stuff, and fantastic at the price. Nose of chocolate and coffee. Dark brown, almost black, and almost opaque, with a very small tan head. First impression of coffee, chocolate, bourbon, and some hop notes at the end. Marvelous velvet silky oily mouth feel. Remarkable for a porter and remarkable for the price.

On tap at Capone’s. Thick opaque black color with no head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, and molasses. Flavor is complex-roasted malts, dark chocolate, molasses, and dark fruit. Definitely a sipping beer. Velvety on the palate. Just wonderful!

12 oz. bottle from City Beverage in Winston-Salem. Thick, dark brown to black pour with a very thin and quickly fading tan head. Aroma of dark fruit, coffee, and a bit of smoke. Dark chocolate flavor with a hint of fruit tartness (possibly blueberry). Oily, slick mouthfeel. Some warming alcohol detected. Worthy of the praise it receives.
