4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Hazy dark orange body and creamy light beige head. Rich caramel, sweet bread, creme brulee, bit harsh and some dead hops. Maybe a bit too old? Smooth and sweet body, powerful palate. Although it’s a straightforawrd (American) barley wine without much pretence or challenges, I like it. Yeah, I’m a bit of a sucker for the style. (12oz bottle, from Proeflokaal De Molen)

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, thanks sevenhokie. Sweet dark fruit aroma along with caramel malt. Pours light brown with a good, tan head and excellent lacing. Sweet caramel malt to start. Finishes smooth with a good amount of dark fruit on the finish with just a hint of booze. Hides the high alcohol well. Very good.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 11%. Peppery vanilla and coconut aroma, fried fruit and nuts... Studentenfutterbier? Cloudy red brown colour. Small tan head. The flavour is very sweet and nicely alcoholic. Has the same flavour notes as aroma notes, but the flavour is also citric. Not as flavourful as it could have been considering the ABV.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Embrouille - thank you! Pours slightly hazy ruby / copper brown with small off-white head. Clear, sweet aroma of malt, caramel, raisins, nuts and alcohol. Sweet flavour of fruit, and caramel malt, raisins, and juniper berries. Bitter, boozy notes, rather pleasant. Bitter aftertaste. Nice.

12oz bottle shared, pours a murky brown color with off white head. Nice aroma of sweet malts and raisins and plums. Medium bodied. Flavor is malt forward with lots of sweetness but not cloyingly sweet. Plenty of dark fruits and raisins. Classic barley wine very well made. Only detraction is its a little bit light on the mouth feel and no real deep alcohol burn that should accompany a barley wine.

A: Burnt Orange Hue, Passes Some Light, White Head Ring, Mild Lacing
S: Boozy, Plums, Sweet Bread
T: Caramel, Dark Fruit, Sweet Bread, Boozy
M: Average Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Mildly Boozy, Mildly Sweet
Overall, for a properly aged bottle, it still packs quite a kick on both taste and booziness. Probably one of the better Duck Rabbit beers that I have had.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle into snifter glass. Rusty-amber color with tan head. Aroma of heavy malt sweetness, caramel, dried fruitiness (plums, raisins) and brown sugar. Taste is pretty heavy on the caramel/dried fruits adding notes of chocolate, fresh fruit (cherries, figs), grainy, alcohol with minimal earthy hop bitterness. Heavy body, low carbonation, sweet, rich, syrupy with slightly sweet roasty finish. Pretty solid barleywine, not remarkable but solid.

Malty aroma of fruit, licorice, spice. Hazy caramel color. Medium sweet taste. Medium-heavy body, thin texture, sour finish. Not a huge fan of this style but this one was pretty good.

DR doesn’t exactly excite me, and this beer was on par with that .. . Pours a shimmered tan ruby .. Mild foam .. . Burnt sugar, plum skin, and halle berry . .. Thin and something i wouldn’t ever want again .. . . Ever seen a baby pigeon? i’m sure you haven’t..
