COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Duck-Rabbit Barelywine is the hoppiest of all the Duck-Rabbit brews. This is a Farmville-style Barleywine, crafted the way brewers in Farmville have always done. Loads of Amarillo hops give a piney citrusy bitterness that’s supported beautifully by a toffee malt backbone. ABV: 11.0%

Dark amber with a thick off white head. Aroma is light pine hops with a very slight fruity element. Flavor is a little sweet with a tiny bit of hops in the finish. A little resinous in the finish though the body is a bit thin. Aftertaste is bittersweet. Not bad, but it could be a bit more impressive.

Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at at Liberty Bar and Restaurant. Sparkling dark orange pour, frothy, off white head with a delicate web of lace. Boozy aroma, but not off- putting, some kids cereal sweetness, but not cloying. Flavor has some caramel, a bit of maple syrup, some brown sugar, solid sweetness, but not cloying at all. Thick, rich mouthfeel.

Poured from a bottle. Cloudy caramel brown with an off white ring of foam. Semi sweet toffee aroma. Light carbonation with a medium slightly oily body that clings to the glass. Smooth syrupy like texture that coats the tongue and roof of the mouth. Just a hint of bitterness along with the toffee flavor. Hides the alcohol well. No harshness and no burn at the finish. Flavors linger awhile. Very enjoyable.

I’m forced to review this after having poured a glass with a flat head—I think I got unlucky and got one that had just lost some of its carbonation or something. That said, it still pours a deep reddish brown and tastes wonderful. It’s kind of nutty and simultaneously smooth and robust. Fantastic beer.

was pleasantly surprised by this beer! poured a hazy brownish red color with a nice thin white head that lasted nicely eventually lacing the glass. the aroma smacks you as you open the bottle with strong aromas of roasted coffee and hazelnuts. Has a nice body with just the right amount of carbonation. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate a bitty nutty. ends nicely with a small bite. the alcohol level is noticeable but not unpleasant. .

12 oz bottle served in a snifter. A bit lighter in color and less rich in flavor than average, although there was some sediment left in the bottle. ABV partially hidden.

Bottle. Aroma of grapes, fortified wine, and caramel. Sweet caramel and grape taste with a crisp bitter finish. Not much booze. Good stuff.

Hazy, brassy appearance with a small, off white head and modest lasting. Sweet, malty aroma of toffee and ripe fruit with a light spicy hop edge. Flavors of caramel, shortbread cookies and dried fruit overpower the subtle hops. Full bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel. Lingering alcohol in the finish is noticable.
