Pours a dark amber with a small dense head that shows good retention and a little bit of lacing. Huge sweet malt smell with caramel, cinnamon, brown sugar, and toffee. Some dark fruits, including raisins, along with a healthy alcohol burn in the nose. Taste actually has a quick hoppy, leafy kick up front which quickly gives way to the sweet malts , molasses and caramel. The finish is actually a bit dry and crisp which I wasn’t expecting. Mouthfeel is medium body with strong carbonation and a big sticky sweetness that dominates everything else. This is a decent English Barleywine, though I would definitely term it a sipper.

12oz bottle from iowaherkeye. Thanks. The aroma was of cereal grains, citrusy hops, molasses, and alcohol. Poured a clear reddish orange color. The head was off white with good retention. Very fruity and sweet on the tongue. Medium bodied and a little sticky. I tasted orange pastry, fruit liqueur, pear, and cotton candy.

Very large head of varying sized bubbles. Quite the large head for a BW. Piney hops aroma with some decaying grass and vegetal notes. Bit of caramel. Color is a crimson brown. Slightly metallic flavor with lots of sweet malts and a slight hops presence. Flavor is quite mellow. Thick and syrupy with loads of caramel and toffee. Oily mouthfeel yet super smooth. Finishes warm and sweet. A decent yet somewhat mellow barleywine.

Bottle. Body-dark almandine body with a medium foamy body and nice lacing. Very attractive. Nose-spoiled milk, cabbage, and something odd that I can’t put my finger on but that I would not call good. Taste-much better than the nose, lots of metal, brown sugar, metal, apple, peach, coconut, metal, marshmallow, medium to high sweetness, corny, medium dark fruits and spices, cherry liquor, cherry syrup, amaretto, big berry flavor, fruity, cantaloupe, powdery
