An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (itís hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt.

@ Greens Discount Beverage / Columbia SC --- Clear dark ruby brown with a thick head cover, thin stripes of lace. Taste is mild caramel malt that grows bitter as it moves through the palate, adding carbonation fizz in the finish. Pretty simple brew.

Bottle. Dark brown with a 2 finger tan head. Earthy roasty aroma. Taste follows suit with a hint of cherry like sweetness. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Solid.

Tasted on 2/27/14 from a capped 12oz bottle purchased at Whole Foods. Pours deep amber, just letting a bit of fiery light through, with a huge, rocky beige head that slowly recedes to thick, rocky lace. The nose is some nutty cocoa nib malt with a nice dose of spicy and green hops bitterness, and just a touch of fruity esters. The flavor is on the lighter side with the spicy and bitter hops coming through nicely and even a bit more fruitiness than on the nose. The body is medium with very lively carbonation and a long spicy hops and lightly nutty/fruity finish.

Pours mahogany/red. Quick head with some lacing. Smells floral/earthy. Tastes of bitter chocolate, coffee and grass, medium-light body. Slightly metallic, bittersweet finish. Middle of the road offering.

Bottle into shaker. Dark brown. Malty aroma. Dark chocolate, coffee, ginger taste. Smooth finish. None of the hops, bitterness, or flowery aroma that are advertised are present. This is more like a porter to me.

Sucks. I donít like this brewery much based on the beers I have rated. I donít even think this is a brown?? Slight coffee and musk in aroma cloudy red brown pour. Taste is hoppy throughout but not enjoyable at all

Bottle: Murky brown color with red tints. Foamy light brown head that settles down to an uneven head like pond scum. Malty aroma with a smoky flavor. Fairly full body with a burnt, bitter finish.

Bottle with a clear amber brown color. Sharp and toasty malt flavors. rather sharp with a nice bitter bight. A bit brash for a Brown.

Pours brown and clear with an amber tint. Head is bubbly foam and beige. Some thickness and lacing. Aroma is nutty, earthy roasted malt. Taste is surprisingly bitter-focused. Quite crisp and active on the palate. Earthy notes and roast malt. Astringent and bitter aftertaste. Plenty of taste here, which was unexpected and appreciated. However, I don't know that I like the taste - just too unbalanced. Wish it brought out a bit more sweet caramel or chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
