An American brown ale brewed with loads of hops from start to finish (it’s hoppy and beautifully bitter). Amarillo hops in the boil provide a spicy citrusy bitterness. Saaz dry hops in the fermentor provide a refined flowery aroma. These hops are supported by a grain bill of seven varieties of malt.

A deep red beer with a lazing light brown head - the color is not dark enough to be a brown ale! The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of berries. The flavor is sweet with light notes of roasted malt, nuts, and towards the end also metal. The end is slightly bitter. The carbondioxide tickles the tongue while drinking.

Bottle. It’s a slightly unclear, brown beer with a big, foamy light beige head. Fruity nose with a roasted touch. Berries? Roasted flavor with fruityness and a nice bitterness towards the end. Dry in the mouth, medium to full body. Nice piney and chocolate-caramel finish. A quite pleasant and easy drinkable beer, but nothing more. 110416

Hazy dark chestnut colour. Head rises huge but gently falls to a rich, inch-thick layer. Great aroma of fresh toasted grains, layers of chocolate malt and earth and an appetizingly dusty yeastiness. The body starts creamy then gets fizzier. This means the front is dominated by sweet but simple brown sugar & deglet noor-ish malts but the end features deep dark chocolate, mocha and bitter, rooty hop textures. As brawny and complex a brown ale as I’ve found that still remains true to the style.
