The overall appearance, was very sharp looking. The aroma was satisfying. But the taste and palate was lacking.

On cask at The Wine Merchant, Raleigh, last fall. Nice to see this modification to one of my favorite DR regulars. The basic pleasures of the milk stout remain, most especially in the silken mouthfeel and subtle, well-rendered flavors of dry chocolate, modest lacto, and roasted malts. It’s the latter that’s accentuated with the bean, and it deepens and complements things very nicely. Hope they dial this one up again.

Duck Rabbit Coffee Milk Stout - 5.7%
Had at Lititz cask ale festival 10/29/10.
Very dark with small tan head. Strong aroma of alcohol and coffee. I was worried this would be way to hot based on the smell but it wasn’t at all. Taste is silky chocolate and coffee, more like you would expect at 5.7% abv. Good offering from Duck Rabbit but not as drinkable as the other stouts I had on cask here.

cask @ Green’s in Columbia. Heavy coffee nose takes steps down to sweet milk chocolate. Taste is more thin & less carbonated than I expected. Coffee is less obvious here than aroma, really just lends a hand. Fun.

Special cask at Winslow’s Deli, Greenville, NC
Aroma was off the charts; taste was great but would’ve been MUCH better if the beer wasn’t flat. Their Milk Stout is one of my favorites so I was disappointed this wasn’t better.
