Bottle: The aroma consists of black chocolate, roast, black licorice, and pine. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head. The flavor starts with chocolate and light black licorice. The finish has light-moderate pine and a touch of roast. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, another hoppy Porter in the Black IPA category.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and some piney hops. Flavor is hoppy with roasted malt. Strong bitter finish, but not unpleasant. Almost like mixing a pale ale and a coffee stout. Quite enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Poured into a snifter. Big thanks to SteveFinny for this.
3.0 A: Black color. Two and a half fingers of frothy light brown head. Retention is good, but just a couple whisps of lacing are left.
3.5 S: Big citrus and pine hoppiness. Orange and pineapple are strongest with some papaya in there as well. Mild roastiness with notes of molasses and caramel. Not bad.
4.0 T: The taste is a bit strange, even by black IPA standards, but it works. Moderate roastiness that has a peculiar tanginess to it. Itís like a tangy molasses Iíd say. Big orange hoppiness with pineapple and mango not far behind. Less piney than the nose led on. The reason this works is that the bitterness is kept low.
4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Good creaminess and quite smooth.
4.0 D: Iím not a huge fan of the style, but Iíve had some pretty good ones as of late. I hope brewers keep impressing me.

opaque black mahogany with a thin beige head. medium body with high carbonation.
aroma: citrusy hops with notes of black malt and dark fruit.
taste: astringent piney hops, black roasted barley, a hint of caramel, and intensely bright and minty late hops.
i prefer earthier, more pungent hops in a hoppy black ale, rather than citrusy and minty hops like this.

Bottle. Awesome to see a new duck rabbit. Pours a pitch black with a nice tan head. Fair amount of lacing. Aroma is a nice mix of pine hops with some dark roastiness. Taste is a nice chalky dark chocolate with a burst of bitter hop flavor. Slightly thick on the tongue but drinkable. Really nice example of the style.

Bottle. Pours a dark black body with a wash khaki head. Nose is a conundrum of flavors big roasted malt notes, huge smack of resiny bitter hops, dare i say some chocolate and weak coffee aromas? Aggressively hoppy, at first yet this fades to roasted and nutty flavors well after the sip has passed your tongue. This brew is nicely balanced, and complex. Some black IPAís have brewing flaws that are covered up by heavy roasted flavors and huge hops, not so with this beer. I enjoyed this, it got even better as it warmed closer to 50-60 degrees. Bouquet opens up, very quality beer here. Well done Duck-Rabbit.
