The Duck-Rabbit Hoppy Bunny American Black Ale is both intensely hoppy and intensely BLACK! Eight separate hop additions offer delicious bitterness and beguiling hop aroma/flavor. Heavily represented among these hops are Chinook, which provides deep pine and sticky citrus components and a New Zealand hop called Motueka, from which we get bright fruit and spearmint notes.

Pours black with a creamy medium tan head...heavy lacing. Aroma has roasty dark fruits...anise and licorice root. Flavor follows suit...adds a bit of a burnt/bitter/ashy layer. Mouthfeel is light/medium and the finish is dry and ashy/anise/dark chocolate bitter.

Bottle picked up in Augusta, GA. Pours a black color with white head. Roasty, hoppy, piney, resiny flavors. Very good black IPA.

On tap at Taco Mac -cumming. Dark black pour with thick tan foamy head. Aroma of coffee grinds, chocolate, and sweet malts. Omg delish! Bought his as my first Growler last year. Love love. Loads of chocolate and coffe with a nice sweet caramel malt backbone. Bitter coffee grind finish.

Better than I thought it would be. I really like the hop choices with this one. Very dank all around. Doesn’t really even taste that much like a black IPA as much as a normal IPA. You can taste some roastiness from the malts, but the hops really overwhelm this one, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Tasted on tap at Taco Mac in a snifter glass. It poured an opaque black colour with long-lasting beige foam and lace. Highly fragrant hops: citrus, pine resin, floral. I just love those Chinook hops. Light and grainy, bready and toasty, but not nearly as roasty as the colour would predict. Very faint caramel sweetness. More fruit, tropical fruits especially, in the flavours than were present in the aroma. Nicely balanced hoppiness, lots of aroma and flavour complexities without being overly bitter. A good example of the Black IPA/Cascadian Dark Ale style.

volatile hoppy fumey aroma. from bottle, why was I thinking this would not be a dark beer? you know, the name, hoppy bunny aba, not thinking the b was for black. and thus it pours, a beauty black beer with a tan head that goes into this rising dough evolution to a plateau. big nasty hoppy black beer, nasty that is if you are a lager lover, heheh. big long bitter finish trenches into your tongue for a finish. does not hide alky well even tho it does not come across as viscous. dark burnt background makes this almost enjoyable.

Pours a very dark brown with a medium-sized tan head. Just the right amount of bitterness, with spice and caramel notes. Very good!

A deep dark IPA with a thin brown head. In aroma, nice floral hops over chocolate, pungent and floral. In mouth, bitter chocolate with piney floral hops, coffee grind, grapefruit pulp, nice.

Dark beer with a foamy brown head. Sweet malty nose with some cereal grain notes and a nice strong green hop sense to it. Brown sugar sweetness with some puffed cereal, rich chocolate and lots of grassy hops Very smooth mouthfeel.
