COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Duck-Rabbit Hoppy Bunny American Black Ale is both intensely hoppy and intensely BLACK! Eight separate hop additions offer delicious bitterness and beguiling hop aroma/flavor. Heavily represented among these hops are Chinook, which provides deep pine and sticky citrus components and a New Zealand hop called Motueka, from which we get bright fruit and spearmint notes.

12oz bottle: pours a mostly opaque with a creamy froth of beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasted dark malty nose with lots of resiny piny hops. Starts with pretty good fullness and fine carbonation with sweet dark malts and some light roast, well-balanced with crisp hop flavor and bitterness. Finishes drier and bittersweet. True to style and dangerously drinkable.

Bottle. Poured clear black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium to full body and a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark bittersweet flavor to medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a good complex beer.

On tap at Barley’s Taproom and Pizzeria. Somewhat strange aroma with licorice. Smooth roasty taste with fruity american hops. Only slightly bitter. Not bad at all.

Poured from 12 oz bottle. This is a black ale. Just as it says. Chocolate and coffee malts, but cleaner malt wise than a stout. The finish is very clean. A nice beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle shared by Tmoney99. Pours a dark cola brown color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malt, chocolate, mild hoppy character, earthy, mild bitterness, seems more like a porter they tried to throw some hops in. Decent enough, but softer than I would expect from these guys.

Bottle shared by Tmoney99 pour dark brown with thin tan head. Nose green beans? Slight vegetal, then lighter roast and dank hop. Taste initial bitter and burnt, but then some more pleasant roasted malt. Mid to late some roasted and chocolate.

Bottle to shaker glass. This one was a gusher. Pours black, strong light reveals a red hue. 3+ finger pillow head, soapy lacing, retains head to the bottom of the glass. Aroma of tobacco, dark roasted coffee and pine. Taste is medium sweet, medium bitter. Medium body, lively carbonation, resin sticky mouth feel. Finishes long and complex. Tasting notes of cocoa, coffee, fig, spruce, citrus and toffee. This is a solid offering.
