COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Duck-Rabbit Hoppy Bunny American Black Ale is both intensely hoppy and intensely BLACK! Eight separate hop additions offer delicious bitterness and beguiling hop aroma/flavor. Heavily represented among these hops are Chinook, which provides deep pine and sticky citrus components and a New Zealand hop called Motueka, from which we get bright fruit and spearmint notes.

Bottle shared at the chriso Easter 2015 tasting - London. Picked up in the US somewhere. Pours brownish red with a frothy beige head. The nose holds burnt grains, pine, orange rind. Light sweet flavor with some minerals, burnt pine and earth, baking cocoa. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Lightly resinous on the finish, with further minerality, oily pine and bittersweet chocolate. Solid.

While I prefer the milk stout byt the same brewer over this one, that should not take anything away from this delicious extremely enjoyable beer. dark almost pitch black color with a think bubbly tan head that lasts and eventually leaves a thin tan ring. Aroma is that of a rich roasted coffee, aroma of a camp fire. the taste is that of chocolate covered coffee beans, with a tiny sense of spearmint. Overall I highly recommend this beer and cant wait to try other duck rabbit products.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with tall, long lasting, fluffy, brown head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, oranges, dark fruit, coffee and chocolate malt. Body is full, creamy and tangy. Herbal hops dominate the palate, while toasted, chocolate malt, dark fruit, brown sugar provide support. Finish is long and very bitter. Good brew, although Iím not a fan of the style.

Draft. Deep brown/black body with a beige head. Hop-forward aroma of pine, grapefruit juice, citrus, roasted malts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Bitter finish. Sweet citrus flavor balanced with bitter hops and roasted malts. Slight char taste along with tobacco and wood. Nice.

The liquid is the color of black walnut and pours into the glass easily, the medium body quickly overwhelmed with three fingers of porous, tan head. The head is not imperishable and dissipates in a short time, leaving a thick, patchy lace; wet and sticky on the glass. The aroma is a mild roast, squashed by spicy pine and berries. I pull the first full quaff past my tongue and find the pine in my nasal passages after the swallow and fully a part of my exhale. The bitterness of the hops are apparent on my gums, the edges of the taste almost drying the membranes and nibbling at the sides of my tongue. A juicy blackberry is the shining star in the flavor, the pine a solid foundation for the very agreeable layers of roast and fruit. The finish is short, as hoppy as this is, and doesnít cling long. The carbonation is great, at first. It does diffuse over the course, but never entirely, and although I enjoyed the brew more with a bit of a buzz, itís still nicely enjoyable to the end of the glass. Definitely a brew I would drink again!!

Bottle: Dark color with a tan head. Citrusy hop aroma with a bit of lived-in musty house on the end. Strong bitter flavors with some grainy notes among the hop profile. Solid black IPA
