COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Duck-Rabbit Märzen is the lightest of our Germal-style lagers. This is a beer designed for outdoor autumn festivals! Soft malt flavors take center stage here. This one is subtle and beguiling.

Draft. Hazy amber color with a small head. Malty nose with a lot of spice. Flavor shows some clear spicing, similar to a malty version of some pumpkin ales. It’s full-bodied for the style yet still quite drinkable.

Nutty malty taste. Dry finish with some grain flavor. Faint amber malt aroma. Light spices. Medium bodied and very drinkable.

12 ounce single bottle from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Color is a nice reddish copper hue with an off white head. Aroma is caramel and a light bready smell. Tastes mild and clean, not very interesting. Not bad but not one of Duck-Rabbit’s better efforts.

Pours a clear amber color with a large fluffy off-white head. Aroma of nuts, malt and caramel. Flavor is sweet, nutty, toasted malts, and some caramel. Light hop bitterness at the finish. Decent.

Bottle (355ml) from Vinmonopolet (Vika), Oslo. Good-looking, clear, dark amber colour. Inch-thick offwhite head with good retention, leaves some lacing. Nose of dusty hops, malt; the complexity increases as the beer warms up, and includes fruit, cookies, caramel, licorice - fascinatingly multilayered. Malty taste, fairly dry, well-balanced. Medium body, soft carbonation (feels a bit flat). Finish includes some sourness, but still pleasant. Very good drinkability.

Pours a dark amber with a thin head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, and some slight hops. I thought this was one of the better Oktoberfest brews so far that I have tried this season. It had a nice malty taste with hops and fruit on the tongue as well - just enough spice to remind you that it is there.

Poured from bottle into shaker. Pours a reddish gold color with a 1 finger head which rapidly reduces to a skim. Aroma - lots of malt on the nose, some spiciness from the hops. Taste - lots of caramel initially, then some biscuit notes, a touch spicy, goes back to a nice caramelly finish. Nicely carbonated, with good finish and really pretty clean. This is a really nice marzen.

Bottle. Pours a beautiful red brown with a quick white head. Really nice brown sugar nose. Taste is slick, grainy, sweet, and really goes down smooth. Really great marzen.
