Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

Sampled at GABF. Dark black pour with tan head. Aroma of chocolate, light lactic notes. Flavor is chocolate, roast, and a light sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel with sweet finish. Delicious.

My wife brought this back to me from NC. The flavor has a good blend of "milky" goodness and stout I have has some "milky or vanilla" stouts/porters, namely Breckenridge Vanilla Porter that has too much "milk". Duck Rabbit does not over do it. You still can taste the stout finish.

Right up there with Guinness on my dark-beer faves list. Great stuff out of my hometown, Farmville, NC. Has a very full-body, with a slightly sweet finish, and it’s blacker than night.

9/29/09 notes: Ok, so I’ll give credit where its due. This is actually a much better beer than I remember. It displays sweet lactose while managing to retain toasted notes and a certain nutty chocolateness. Smooth body throughout, medium length finish. I really enjoyed it.

Kind of similar to their porter, but not as robust. Smooth, creamy palate with flavors of milk chocolate, and some coffee. Very easy-drinking stout, though it could use a bit more body.

i have had this bottle so long i forgot who sent it to me......sorry. poured a dark brown with a beige head. aroma was dark roast, fudge, and i think milk but hope the name wasnt doing that. flavor was coffee, dark roasts, slight burnt, and dark fruits. body was medium-heavy with medium carbonation.

GABF 2009: The beer here is brown. The head is thin and tan. The nose is sweet and severely roasty. Flavors are sweet, lactic and roasted to all hell. There’s also notes of chocolate and coffee. Good for the style, unfortunately, this is far from my style.

Dark brown, light beige head. Nose mainly of roast malt, hints of milk chocolate. The milk chocolate and roast clash in the flavor, the sweetness and bitterness never coming together.
