Dark brown in color with alot of ruby highlights- appearance seems more in line with a porter than stout. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, specifically raisin and a touch of plum, light roast. Taste is moderately roasty up front, giving way to light chocolate, dark fruit, and light touches of lactose. medium bodied. Pretty nice. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 23, 2008 Bottle thanks to BigMilly8. Pours opaque brown but the glass is solid black with subtle red hues around the edges. Aromas of chocolate malt, lactose, roasted malt, smoked oak, and rye malt. Taste is sweet, sugary malt, and milk chocolate upfront, with heavy roast mid-palate with some toasted and smoked notes. Faint hints of dark fruit come and go so its hard to pinpoint. Some black coffee and a touch of bittering hops makes up the finish with a touch of lactose, more sugary sweetness, and milk chocolate. Mouth feel is strange as its creamy body clashes with sharp carbonation. Wish I had more. Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy of my Summer Secret Santa. Dark brown pour with a huge, loosely compacted chocolate brown head. Made up mostly of carbonation bubbles, this thing dies away fairly quickly but is still an impressive sight. No real evidence of lacing anywhere, so that knocks down the appearance a few notches. Nose of roasted coffee grounds, rich chocolate milk, hot cocoa powder and dairy creamer. The back end of the aroma brings an unpleasant chalky note into the fold, almost musty, but thankfully is just at the very back end. Fore is sweet milk chocolate, some coffee roast, lactose sweetness and some caramel. Back end brings a lot more sugary sweetness into the mix, almost cola like at times, but always backed by a rich milk chocolate and malt pairing. Medium bodied, very creamy and feels more substantial than what it really is, I guess thanks to the milk sugars present. Finish is chocolate, malts, some coffee, milk and then more chocolate taking me all the way through the super long finale. Finally had my first brew from these guys and I was not disappointed in the least. Good stuff. oldrinkin (3), rocky point, North Carolina, USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Jan 20, 2008 For a stout, the milk stout hit the nail on the head....most def worthy of a near perfect rating.....cudos to the duckrabbitbrewery. fishingnet (1045), Brandon, Florida, USA

Pours a clear dark dark brown with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness balanced by a sweet finish. Very good. jcr (1149), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 18, 2008 Bottle. The sweet milk sugar is the first thing I noticed when I took a whiff of this stout. Though the sweet side dominates, it is nicely balanced with bitter and stout dryness. The pour reveals a dark but not opaque brown/black body. The head is average sized and a fizzy light brown. The aroma is sweet with molasses and milk chocolate. Some roasted malts and grain follow, along with vanilla and a faint scent of coffee. The flavor is moderately sweet, but finishes moderately bitter and dry. Medium body, lively carbonation. The texture is quite smooth. Enjoyable. bdigital (586), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 10, 2008 Bottle: Pours a dark black with a massive, rocky, tan head. Aroma is a coffee-infused rich chocolate milkshake. Dark malts and a subtle anise present. Medium bodied mouth feel, very well carbonated. This tastes exactly like a homemade dark chocolate chunk cookie dunked in a big glass of milk. The sweetness of this doesn’t once become distracting or off-putting but drives this home wonderfully. This is the perfect dessert beer, especially anything that is made with rich chocolate and dark fruits. Wonderful stuff.
