WeeHeavySD (2940), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Dec 8, 2007 12oz bottle via trade bonus with Jmichael. thanks Jon. Pours Black with a 3 finger creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet but faint. Taste takes a little while to settle through the foam, chocolate notes, and some sweet sugary feeling. Pretty nice overall. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 6, 2007 Now this is a milk stout! Awesome beer courtesy my Secret Santa. Aroma was great...sweet chocolate all the way. Pour was a nice dark brown with a one finger tan head. Taste was strong...nice milk and chocolate combination with a sweet cream aftertaste. Nice carbonation carries this beer which I find missing in a lot of stouts. Wish I could get Duck Rabbit in PA. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Dec 6, 2007 GABF. Sweet aromas. Some chocolate flavors, but just a bit watery on the finish. I felt like I had missed something. So I tried it again. Still wasn’t there. badnloose (99), North Hollywood, California, USA Dec 5, 2007 Bottle. Poured thin, didn’t give an impression of a stout. Creamy, yes, but with an utterly sour taste. Judging by the other reviews, I should try it again... perhaps it was a bad experience. drfabulous (1212), Columbia, Missouri, USA Dec 5, 2007 Bit of a tangy stout. Creamy Chocolate and hops.. As one reviewer said, a bit of a sour taste. wj94 (64), Virginia, USA Dec 5, 2007 Aroma is fantastic, the best I’ve found among milk stouts. Smells strongly of nuttiness, milk, chocolate, slight coffee presence. Almost tastes like carbonated chocolate milk. A departure from the stouts I would normally drink, but worth the trip. This one came as a surprise, bought a case of it for after-dinner consumption. Drink4Satan (585), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Nov 30, 2007 Pours a deep brown, almost black, with ruby edges an a dense tan head. Nose is of mocha coffee, milk chocolate, raisins, and gives the impression of malted milk balls. The flavour is chocolately, roasted malt with an initial lactic tang and an alcoholic, cherry-like fruity finish. There is a woody, bitter, but almost sour, hop finish. Creamy yet tingly mouthfeel with a lingering roasty, yet sour aftertaste that is a little too alcoholic. rudolf (1734), Buffalo, New York, USA Nov 25, 2007 Bottle from Decaturstevo - thanks! Dark brown, a hint of ruby shines through. Solid tan head. Nose is alcohol, cocoa, some very dark toffee notes, something vaguely spicy. Flavor is cocoa, that spicing, chocolate covered cherries. Slight tingle (alc? hops?) at the finish where burnt malt comes into play. More of that dark toffee too. Solid and a style I don’t typically encounter.
