Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

Bottle. Reddish dark brown colour with a nice head. Aroma of smooth chocolate and little roastedness. Flavour of smooth chocolate and some toastedness. Ends up very smooth but with a strange finish.

Pours very dark with a small brown head. Chocolatey smells dominate. Creamy and flavorful with lots of roasty flavors. Tons of coffee flavor. Great balance of sweet and bitter. Velvety feeling but a tiny bit thin.

The color was deep chocolate/orange. The head was medium beige and creamy. The aroma was coffee, robust, roasty, and some sweet malt. The flavor was very roasty, coffee, robust, and sweet malt. The palate was medium-bodied. The finish was a little more abrupt than I would ahve liked but sill roasty.

Pours dark brown with an off white head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. Nothing overpowering. Taste was creamy, almost milky, with roasted malt, chocolate, and light coffee. Very smoothe.

Props to the local, another fine brew from DR. If I had a buzz I’d make a gratuitous Wittgenstein reference. But I’ll just be content to say that this has a bold aroma of roasty goodness, combined with a very smooth mouthfeel and a finish that’s ever so slightly dry. Nice!

Appearance: Pours a deep chestnut drown with some dark garnet hues around the edges. During the brief time the beer’s head and I spent together, it appeared off-white. Smell: Smells of sweet chocolate, roasted malts, with a touch of smoke. Additionally, there’s a sour (but yummy) milk twang in the nose. Taste: Starts with a smack of sweet cocoa. Secondary roasty and smokey flavors, too. Very minor hop character. All the while, milkiness, milkiness! Finishes with the roasted malt bitterness. Mouthfeel: Milky! However, its a bit on the thinner side, just under medium-bodied and with just a trace of carbonation. Still, it could greatly benefit from a bit more body. Drinkability: Its smooth dessert-like qualities make it rather enjoyable, as well as drinkable. Very Yoo-hoo-esque. While not nearly as flashy or bold as other stouts, its still a good beer, that with a little tweaking, could make for a really great milk stout.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of madsberg. Clear, chestnut brown with an off-white head. Sweetish, lightly burned malt aroma. Medium body, roasted, lightly burned malt accents and then this hard to describe lacto edge. The finish is dry. 310507

Wasnt sure if I was gonna like this beer. I do! This is one great go-to beer avaible at at the standard grocery stores in my area. Pour dark almost like oil, super creamy head. Chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts in the aroma with a creamy smooth finish very enjoyable
