A: Pours very dark brown, nearly black, looks "burnt" and features a big pillowy beige head.
S: Not what I was expecting, this ale’s aromas fall somewhere between sweet and soapy, with a touch of grass or hay. Some mildly piney hops scents in there too.
T/M: Thankfully the soapy aromas don’t translate over into the beer, so it’s back in business. The initial nose is very sweet, with some predominantly milk chocolate flavoring right up front and not hiding. Nice feel to the beer too, I found it to be quite lip-smacking and sugary, though there is nearly no finish to speak of.
D: While I enjoyed this beer for the most part, and it’s relatively reasonable ABV make it a beer that’s easy enough to put back a few, I didn’t find myself going ga-ga over this one. Probably wouldn’t seek this out too often. golubj (1286), Sunnyvale, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Bottle. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, and some alcohol. Creamy texture. Flavor is also of cream, roasted malt, and hops. Kind of a strange mix. Tmoney99 (4711), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2007 Bottle at Taco Mac, TN. Pours clear dark brown color with a large cascading frothy light brown head that was lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate roasted chocolate malty aroma. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Heavy balanced roasted bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of long duration. This is a solid drinkable sweet stout. alexanderj (2227), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Poured a dark brown/black; light brown medium sized head. Aroma was not very strong; small hint of chocolate, some roasted malt, and a smell that was a mix between yeast and floral hops. Not bad aroma overall, but a little faint. A very strong sweet presence initially; milk, sugar, and chocolate, gives way to a roasted malt, with some chocolate. Body was a little light, could have been fuller and creamier mouthfeel. About average for me. loslava (9), Hope Mills, North Carolina, USA does not count | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Pours dark brown with light brown-fizzy head. Had to work to find the chocolate aroma. Taste is slightly acidic and bitter with metallic finish. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Not too bad. Poured black with a white head. Aroma was weak, but sweet. Flavor very much lactic acid, tastes similar to how milk smells. radiomgb (1957), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 23, 2007 Dark brown in colour, rich long lasting beige coloured head, great lacing. The aroma is lightly roasty, some sweet chocolate, cold coffee, some icing sugar. The flavour is very sweet (white sugar), very light roast, some almonds, toasty, light chocolate, faint coffee. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a lingering mild bitterness, turning sweet. Not to bad but a thicker body would help out.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 21, 2007 Nice opaque stout but absolutely no head, roasted malt aroma with a touch of lactic acid evident, tin mouth feel for a stout, light roasted flavor like a weak cup of morning blend coffee, a very minute amount of sweetness in the finish but not enough to really call this a Milk Stout. You cold easily drink several of these in 1 sitting. The Duck Rabbit Porter is a much better brew than this.
