Lingering sweetness. Another impressive brew from these guys. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Nov 27, 2006 12oz bottle via trade with decaturstevo. Aroma: Light cream aroma, chocolate, coffee, sweet malt, and a light sour fruitiness. Appearance: Pours black, but shows ruby highlights when held to the light. Light tan head was very full and frothy with great retention. Great lacing. Flavor: Deep maltiness with some coffee and chocolate, light smoke, a moderate sourness, and a touch of dark fruitiness. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Good beer. Lacking a bit in mouthfeel. Not as full as I would have liked. Also, would have preferred a little more sweetness. Still, good stuff. JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Nov 25, 2006 Thanks to Suttree for this bottle. It doesn’t have the depth of the baltic porter, but the same heavy palate is there. Aroma much like an oatmeal stout. Flavor has light smoke and rare roast beef as well as popcorn. Black and oily appearance. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA Nov 19, 2006 From bottle. Pours a super dark red. Foamy tan head. Nose of light coco, chalky, liquorish and sour. Flavor follows, sour and rotten vege. Probably a bad bottle, although it looks like it’s happen to others as well. MrManning (1634), London, Ontario, Canada Nov 16, 2006 Thanks for the bottle Ross! Pours deep, deep brown and a frothy, beige head that lasts. Leaves nice lace. Aroma is full on metal, sour milk, with the malt screaming to get through. Lots of wet cardboard and leather too. Sweet, metallic flavour, like I am chewing on a metal pipe covered in coffee. Very lactic, milky and sour. Ahh shit n’ piss, what the hell, this is just shashed ass in a bottle. Thanks for sending it Ross. I’ll have to re-rate when I get the chance. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Nov 15, 2006 Dark brown, frothy head. Aroma is chocolate, cream, milk. Taste is lots of roasted malt, which imparts a nice bitterness as well. Light sourness, slightly dry. Great soft body, approachable. Finish is roasty, short.
