3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a very deep brown with some faint maroon hints when the light hits it. Thin tan head that doesnít stick around for too long but leaves decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is coffee bean, vanilla, roasted malt, caramel, and toffee. Flavor is not quite as bold as I expected. Much more delicate. Espresso, vanilla bean, and roasted malt are the dominate details that I can pick out. Semi-sweet stout, that seems to be holding back a little on the flavor. Itís delicious, but I feel like it could be even better with some tweaking of the flavor profiles. Nicely carbonated and light on the palate for a stout. Overall this beer is very enjoyable, and I could easily see myself sitting down and knocking out a few of these in a row. Itís not however the best sweet stout that Iíve had and there are better options out there in the category in my opinion.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle into a wine glass.
A: Pours a not-entirely-opaque dark ruby color. The head isnít very impressive: it isnít even a finger high, itís a light brown shade, and it doesnít even retain itself very well. Not much lacing is left, either. Not the most impressive looking stout.
S: The primary aroma is lactose cream, as expected. Other notes like roasted malts, chocolate, brown sugar, and *maybe* some dark fruit keep it interesting. Exactly what I want from a milk stout aroma, no more, no less.
T: Flavors are much the same: itís milky to start, turning into a sweet middle and a roasted yet sweet finish. Occasional wisps of chocolate appear near the back end. Not much for me to say here other than the fact itís a good, solid milk stout thatís more conducive to drinking than analyzing.
M: I like my stouts to feel creamy and soft, and this doesnít quite fulfill that. Itís a touch sharp, a touch over-carbonated, and dare I suggest, porter-y. Itís also rather sweet and lacking in finishing dryness.
O: The look and the feel arenít great, but this is quite good otherwise. If this was readily available in my state, Iíd definitely drink it again.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout has a medium, beige, creamy head, some lacing left behind, and a dark brown appearance, with some visible bubble streams on the side of the glass. The aroma is of sweet, sugary, brown bread crust, milk powder, chocolate powder, and even a touch of black cherry. Taste is of all that, with a nice, subtle, balancing bitterness to follow up. Mouthfeel is thick and velvety, and The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout finishes powdery dry, easy going, and smooth. Overall, this is an outstanding beer. I love it! RJT

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Have had this many times, and enjoy it very much. This time I had it served warmer than usual, and to me the bitterness is more noticeable. I still get the coffee aroma and the sweetness does help balance things, but drinking it warmer isnít as good as when chilled.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, poured cellar temperature. Smells like dark roasted coffee and malt. Pours dark, dark red, nearly black, with a tan head. Taste starts sweet, followed by a taste that follows the smell, and finishes just bitter enough to let you know thereís alcohol in it, not quite stout bitter, though. Good sipper. Would buy again.

1/23/14. Draft at motorco. Poured inky black with a milk chocolate two finger head. Mild roasty nose. Wonderfully balanced mouth that evolves and delights all the way down. Like many other Duck-Rabbits, this sets my standard for milk stouts.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle, thanks to caterwaul. Enjoy by date notched is 2/14. Near-black color. Thin light brown head. Leaves good ropes and dots of lace. Head later fades to minimal. Good heavy roast in this, which I appreciate. Light coffee note. Bigger bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Sweet stouts are often way too sweet for me, I appreciate the heavy roasty bitter taste of this example. Nice milk chocolate aroma. Medium-plus body. Good chewiness to the texture, and a dry finish. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Satisfying, tasty milk stout. Probably how Iíd brew one, if I had to. A good amount of roast and bitterness, not too sweet, with a nice chewier texture.
