Commercial Description:
A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

Near black colour. Aroma is similar to Vietnamese coffee, but with a distinct nuttiness. Full body with a rich roasty character. This lends a fair bit of acrid bitterness that is offset by decadent lactose sweetness. Not entirely traditioanl given its strength (and accompanying relatively hefty body) but it is flavourful and showcases the key ingredients well. Cheers to Suttree for hooking me up with this!

I love the sweet stout style and this one lives up to it’s name. Looks great, pouringinky black and capped with a mountainous tan head. Nice lacing adds to the picture as you drink it down. Aroma is decent with milk chocolate notes, but not outstanding. Flavor is amply chocolately with a nice creamed coffee note and perhaps a bit of soy sauce. The mouthfeel is where this one really shines, however, as it is slick, creamy and very full bodied, yet not syrupy. Well done!

Bottled. Burgundy coloured.Light brown head. Sweetness, light roast, some sweet chocolate and vague spices in the aroma. Flavour has light chocolate, light roast, light herbs and some spiced fruit. Is medium to full bodied. Dry. Chocolatish roasted end. Thanks to Immy for this.

Bottle courtesy of hopdog. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Nose is roasty and bittersweet with some light lactic notes, bittersweet dark chocolate, light coffee, and some dark fruits. Taste is coffee, roasted malts, big lactic tartness, light melon, hint of raspberry and bittersweet dark chocolate. Body is medium but has some tart sharpness to it and moderate carbonation. Finishes with lots of cocoa, coffee and cream, lactic sour notes, dark chocolate, hint of licorice and melon. Very nice beer! Would like to try the rest of the Duck-Rabbit beers!

Have to fight to get a head on this brew. Creamy, dense head of fine bubbles which settles slowly. Slightly sweet aroma with coffee, milk chocolate and lactose. Color is a very dark brown, boardering on black. Flavor is rich and creamy. Lots of roasted grains, dark coffee and a little sweetness. Also a nice bitterness to go along with the abundant roastyness. Finish is smooth and creamy. Very easy drinking and quite yummy.

[Draft @ Capones] Poured an opaque black color with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, lactose, flaked oats, cocoa, and vanilla. Taste of roasted malt, light smoke, chocolate, and some vanilla, with a dry, roasty finish.

Pours obsidian with minimal head. Aroma of roast malt, chocoff, licorice, slight rauch. Tastes malty, with chocoff, oats, licorice, and some floral hops. Medium palate, and well balanced.
