A traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). The subtle sweetness imparted by the lactose balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains which give this delicious beer its black color.

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2011 Bottle.Poured a nice rich black in color with a small medium brown creamy head that was mostly lasting and produced some good lacing. The aroma was of a strong dose of roasted grain malts and a moderate sweet doughy yeast with notes of molasses, chocolate and coffee. It tasted slightly sweet and rather malty with a hint of chocolate initially and the became a mildly bitter-sweet with a coffee-molasses flavor at the finish that left the flavor hanging around on the taste buds for a decent amount of time. Mouthfeel was full in body and smooth & creamy in texture with a flat carbonation. Overall this stout is superb, one of the best I have tasted up to this point. It is very easy to drink and will leave you wanting another.

Bottle poured into a pilsner showing pitch black with coffee black rims and very sparse latte colored foam. The nose shows a lactose sweet note throughout on top of a bed of roasted malts. The palate is light bodied with light carbonation. Immediate subtle lactose sweetness appears but closer to a soybean-like sweetness. Barely any bitterness. A bit thin on flavor all around and a very simple milk stout.

The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout could be a breakfast drink! Pours an expected dark but with more tan head than there should be. Still, nice roasty aroma rising from the glass. Taste starts with a roasted quality (almost like bacon) followed by coffee notes and a hint of chocolate. Finally, a hint of lacto on the backend. Duck-Rabbit Milk is one tasty brew and more complex than the average stout.

A crisp and high drinkable stout. Straightforward but not simple palate. Coffee aroma. Very impressive especially considering drinking not on tap. Bottle. Random day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
