Commercial Description:
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.
[ Trade by GAManiac ]. Clear dark dark red brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, sea water notes, a bit like a ouster stout ! Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is oily to watery - thin, carbonation is soft. [20090430]

Acquired via trade with GAManiac. Thanks, Grant.. continuing the trek through the Duck Rabbit bottles. Pours a dark brown, largely transparent, but dark with ruby edges, decent tan head that dies to a small layer, laces fairly well. Aromas are a nice warminh cocoa, roasted malts, a touch of coffee, and creamy sweetness in the body. Very inviting. Initial is lighter on the palate than expected, but packs some pretty good flavors. Cocoa, milk chocolate, roasted malts, and a nice creamy sweetness. Light coffee with creamer. Backend shows more coffee, chocolate, cream. Light bitterness in the finish doesn’t really play too much of a role. The beer’s strength is it’s flavor, lightness on the palate without skimping on body. Very nice. Aftertaste of roast, coffee, chocolate. Cheers!

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Dark brown pour with an off-white head. Roasted malt aroma. Excellent flavor of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee. This is an outstanding porter that ranks near the top of its category.

Bonus bottle from adrian910ss. Thanks Adrian. Pours a slightly bubbling chocolate brown with a big light tan head. Bakers chocolate, malt, and candy sugar on the nose. Smoke, tobacco, oatmeal, warm melted dark chocolate, cola, and a slight floral note. Mouth is slightly chewy at first but smooths out. Medium dry. Nice robust porter.

Bottle. Aroma of raisinets, burnt caramel, more general milk chocolate. In the mouth the dark fruits come out more with raisins, plums, a touch of prunes, as well as lovely earthy bitterness, to go with all the burnt caramel and milk chocolate notes, often bordering on mocha. Quite a classy porter.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a thick light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, sweet malt, chocolate covered pretzels. Flavor of nice roasted malt and bitter chocolate with some vegetal notes. Nice sturdy palate. It wore a little on me...on the whole it is a decent beer though. 7/4/7/4/14 (3.6/5)
