COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Very dark in color. This robust porter features a pronounced flavor of roasted grains reminiscent of dark chocolate. Also, Paul and Brandon add oats to the grist to give a subtle round silkiness to the mouthfeel.

Sweet roasted malt aroma. Its a porter so it better pour dark brown. The flavor was alright, sweet roasted malt, with a slight sourness.

12 oz bottle, via ross. Pours a clear dark brown with a small fizzy dark brown head. No sediment in bottle. Aroma is very chocolaty with lighter roasted malt. Some light hoppiness and dry yeastiness. Flavor is dominated by roasty malt and a light sourness up front with a little of the chocolate malt coming out in the dry lightly hoppy finish. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with a watery texture and moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall, a middle of the road Porter. It could have used alot more body and more chocolate malt in the flavor versus all the roast.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry -- courtesy of ross. Pours a clear dark ruby-brown with a large diminishing tan head. Very nice roasty aroma with some caramel malt, chocolate and coffee. Flavour’s predominently coffee and chocolate along with some sweet malt and fruit. Body’s a little thin. There’s nothing outstanding about it but this is still an enjoyable Porter, I’d gladly have it again.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy, his bottle. Deep clear ruby-brown, decent light brown diminishing creamy head. Dark roasty aroma, coffee beans, dark chocolate, grainy and light hops. Light taste, roasty and somewhat fruity, average linger, nutshell finish. Mouthfeel decent for a porter, acidic and still, something of an aftertaste, very nice.

Nearly black colour. Rich aroma is chocolatey, fruity, vinous, molassesy. Flavour is gentler, softened by a brown sugar note, but maintains an enticing complexity of molasses, milk chocolate and light winey notes. Creamy, full mouthfeel. Sweet, complex finish. Bloody good - I’d put this up against anyone’s porter.

Nice and smooth in the mouth, but a slightly chalky feel after it goes down. Wonderful flavor, very powerful. Lots of burnt flavors, and grainy coffee with chocolate. I liked this one a lot, it speaks well for all porters.

Bottle. Burnt caramel, cola and ash aroma. Opaque black brown with slight film of a head. Smokey mocha coffee flavor primarily - mild sweetness with a moderate hops finish. High acidity and moderate carbonation. I really like the smoke flavor - reminds me of a campfire.

Had this in the noog with ice and shag. a nice chocolate, roasty, malty aroma. the flavor has some chocolate, some burnt toffee, some molasses, and just a touch of sour cherries or something. a little too much acidity for me. body is thin and unimpressive but the flavors are good.

This is a very dark brown looking brew. The aroma is very chocolate and waxy. I get a bit of acid from it and alot of chocolate in the body. Decent porter.

12 oz., bet by 5/06. Foamy brown head. Dark mahogany and opaque, but clear. Deep forward aroma of toasted/burnt malt, coffee, molasses, and woodish hints. Nice. Tastes just like a stereo typical porter. Wood, burnt semi-sweet malt, and light spicy hops. It is, however, a bit to sharp for my pallet. Body is a bit thin as well. Wet. Certainly not a favorite, but the aroma was very nice.
