2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Appearance: Pours black with a thin tan head.
Aroma: Chocolate, very faint roast.
Taste: Faint bitterness, dark chocolate, roast. An annoying carbonation.
Palate: Thin, carbonated. Mildly unpleasant.
Summary: I expected more from the ’dark beer specialist’

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location/Date:Bottle on December 21st, 2012.
Appearance: Pours a dark opaque with light brownish white head.
Aroma: Aroma of dark chocolate and faint roast.
Taste: Similar to the nose. Faint bitterness, dark chocolate, roast.
Palate: medium body, slick texture that is really nice.
Summary:The mouthfeel on this porter is exceptional. The taste is pretty good, I just prefer my porters slightly more hopped up. Tasty though.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A decent porter, nothing too special. Pours black with a brown head. Not much smell, a little bit of milk and caramel. Taste is very smooth, a little bit of burnt coffee. Not bad, but not too exciting either. Had in the bottle in North Carolina.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Dark brown with a slight, tan head. Sweetish aroma of chocolate and dark fruits with a touch of roasted malts. Flavour had milk chocolate, caramel and coffee, with a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mult bottles over the years, gotta love Duck Rabbits porters. Brown pour with thick coffee colored head. Lacing was medium. Aromas and flavor were oatmeal, chocolate bar, citrus hops, smooth malts, licorice, and some candy sugars. As it warmed it got nice and roasty and even slightly warming for the 5.7 percent booze. Not as good as their baltic which is one of the best in world but still a very nice example of the style. Cheers

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Total Wine & More in McLean, VA. Dark brown pour with a really nice frothy light tan head. Aroma is mild roast, ash, and a bit of sour. The slight sour comes through on the taste too - this plays a bit strange in this beer. Just okay for me.

2.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Very up-front with strong, dark, bitter flavors with an overall very simple flavor profile. Texture reminded me more of a soda than a beer - especially a porter. To risk melodrama, this tastes like someone ran soda water through a used batch of coffee grounds and cigarette butts. Not overwhelmingly bad, at least not enough to pour out, but I will not be recommending this to others.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz. bottle. It pours dark brown with a khaki head. The aroma is roasted malt with some dark fruit prunes, raisins, hints of coffee. The flavor is pretty dark fruity with some strong roast coming through in the back end. Not too sweet. Pretty dry actually, just lots of dark fruit before the roasted finish. Not your usual porter. I enjoyed it mildly.
